- These mattresses come from the same company and are both organic mattresses made with natural materials.
- Both mattresses are hybrids made with a mix of latex foam and coils — making both a good choice for hot sleepers.
- Both mattresses have a similar feel. We even gave them the same firmness rating of 6 out of 10, which means they’re both softer than average.
Main Differences
- The Avocado Green mattress has zoned support included in the construction, which the Avocado Eco Organic does not. This means the bed is optimized to provide more support to some parts of your body and more pressure relief to others.
- The Avocado Green is available in a pillow top or standard version, and the Avocado Eco Organic comes in just one version.
- The Eco Organic is cheaper than the Green. The Green also comes with a 25-year warranty and 1-year trial period, while the Eco Organic comes with a 10-year warranty and a 100-night trial.

Let’s now talk about how these mattresses feel. Here at Sleepopolis, we rate a bed’s firmness on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being the softest and 10 being the firmest. We use 6.5 as the standard for medium-firm. We test out lying on a bed in multiple positions, gathering the opinions of a few different team members, in order to generate our firmness rating.
Avocado Green
Our tester rated the Avocado Green as a 6 out of 10, although some team members found it closer to a 6.5. While the coils provide a sturdy support, the latex comfort layer provides nice cushioning that puts the mattress right on the line between soft and medium-firm.
Avocado Eco Organic
We also rated the Avocado Eco Organic as a 6 out of 10, meaning it is just softer than average. We found it had a pleasant, pressure-relieving feel from the latex layers. However, it is also very bouncy and responsive, making it easy to move around on.
Comparing What it’s Like to Sleep on the Avocado Green and the Avocado Eco Organic
Depending on your weight/body type and primary sleeping position, a mattress can feel different to you than it might to another person. Let’s go over how different sleepers may feel on each of these beds.
Avocado Green
Back — The Avocado Green should be a comfortable choice for back sleepers all around. It is firm and supportive enough to maintain a neutral sleep posture, but the latex also provides some pleasant cushioning.
Side — We found the Avocado Green a bit too firm for some side sleepers. The pillow top does provide some nice cushioning, but one of our testers reported feeling some pressure buildup on the joints.
Stomach — While the pillow top version of the Avocado Green is probably a bit too plush for most stomach sleepers — who need firm support to maintain proper posture — the standard version is likely firm enough.
Body Weight — The Avocado Green can work for people of all weight categories, depending on their primary sleeping position. Lightweight sleepers (who weigh 130 pounds or less), average weight sleepers, and heavyweight sleepers (who weigh 250 pounds or more) should all be comfortable back sleeping or stomach sleeping on the standard version.
Avocado Eco Organic
Back — Most back sleepers should be quite comfortable on the Avocado Eco Organic, as it provides sturdy support with cushioning around the lumbar region.
Side — Similar to the Avocado Green, the Avocado Eco Organic could work for some side sleepers, but overall may be lacking in enough pressure relief/cushioning for these folks.
Stomach — Most stomach sleepers will likely find the Avocado Eco Organic too soft, but it could work well for lightweight stomach sleepers, who won’t sink into the material as much and will likely experience the bed as firmer than other sleepers.
Body Weight — The Avocado Eco Organic should work for many lightweight and average weight sleepers, but we don’t think it is supportive enough for heavy sleepers. The Avocado Green offers much more support, so we’d recommend that bed or one of our best mattresses for heavy people instead.

Avocado Green
As I mentioned up top, the Avocado Green is available in a standard and pillow top version. We’ll be looking at the pillow top version here.
Cover: The mattress cover is made with organic cotton and hand-tufted with Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified wool. The combo of cotton and wool makes this cover soft, breathable, and moisture-wicking.
Pillow Top Layer: This layer is a Euro top style pillow top made up of two inches of Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS) certified latex. This material is both bouncy and cooling, making it easy to move around on and a pleasant temperature. (The standard version lacks this layer — otherwise, they have the same construction. However, the standard version will feel firmer.)
Comfort Layer: The main comfort layer, aside from the pillow top, is a 3-inch layer of GOLS-certified latex.
Support Layer: The bulk of the mattress is a tall pocketed coil system, made with individually wrapped coils. Combined with the latex, these coils bring a lot of bounce to the bed. These coils are broken down into “five strategic zones,” which are meant to support the hips, shoulders, and lower back in different ways.
Avocado Eco Organic
Cover: The cover is made with GOTS-certified organic cotton and organic wool. Like the Avocado Green, it is soft and breathable.
Comfort Layer: This layer consists of GOLS-certified natural Dunlop latex. Like other latex foams, Dunlop latex is bouncy and cooling. However, it also stands out for its denser feel.
Support Layer: The support layer consists of individually wrapped steel coils, made from recycled steel. These coils are thicker at the border of the bed, to create extra edge support. They also allow for airflow to keep you cool at night.
