If you’ve been lucky enough to go to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, then you know just how electric and exhilarating the concert is. Not only is the set about three and a half hours long, but Taylor incorporates all sorts of lights, choreography, and surprises into her shows.

In case you’ve missed it, Taylor has been dating Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce for a little over a year, and has seemingly grown close with his mom Donna Kelce, his older brother (and former Philadelphia Eagles star) Jason Kelce, and his brother’s wife, Kylie Kelce. While Travis was absent from Taylor’s Miami shows since the Chiefs were taking on the San Francisco 49ers, Jason, Kylie, and Donna were all present at the tour’s Miami stop.

Naturally, the family’s appearance drew a lot of attention, with people taking pictures and videos of the Kelce family as they enjoyed the concert. One snap, however, has caught the attention of fans over the past few days.

While at the concert, US Weekly reports that Jason’s former teammate Beau Allen got a video of Jason reclining in his box seat, seemingly asleep, while his daughter and wife Kylie were dancing to Taylor’s songs. Beau captioned the video with some of Taylor’s lyrics, writing: “Sometimes I feel like everyone is a sexy baby and I’m a monster on a hill.” (1)

While the idea that Jason took a nap mid-Eras Tour concert is super funny, the football star has recently taken to his and Travis’s shared podcast, New Heights, to refute the claims that he was napping. Read on if you’re curious to see what Jason had to say about whether or not he was napping at the Eras Tour.

Did Jason Kelce Really Take A Nap At The Eras Tour?

During the podcast’s “Outta The House” segment, Travis begins to confront his brother about his nap, saying, “The show is absolutely electric, it’s the greatest show that’s ever been on stage, and you’re over here falling asleep?” Before Jason goes on to refute the fact that he was napping, the retired football star praised Taylor for her performance in Miami. (2)

Jason then goes into the context of the photo, noting that the family was sitting in a box that had a great deal of visibility, and that he was sitting down to dance with his daughter. Jason tells Travis that at the show he “feel[s] like [he’s] kinda in a fishbowl,” so it was more comfortable for him to take a seat during some parts of the show. (2

After Jason’s daughter went to dance with Kylie, he said he was just really feeling the music, saying, “I [was] tapping my thigh, and just like in the moment, listening to the song. And then all of a sudden I go on Twitter and I see this f—n picture.” (2

Jason then goes on to show his proof that he was actually not sleeping by zooming into the photo and showing that his hand was actually hovering above his thigh in mid-tap, saying that “you can’t sleep with your hand hovering above your knee, it’s impossible!” (2) And, as someone who writes about sleep on a nearly everyday basis, I have to say that I agree with Jason’s assessment here: it would be pretty tough to sleep with your hand floating in mid-air.

At the end of the day, these claims are really just jokes, poking fun at how silly and extreme it would be to fall asleep at one of the biggest tours that has ever taken place. But don’t worry Jason — here at Sleepopolis, we believe that you weren’t snoozing during Taylor’s performance.
