What is the Aricove Weighted Blanket Made Of?
Weighted blankets can be made from a variety of materials, but analyzing the materials used can tell you more about how the blanket will feel and function.
Shell: The outer shell of the Aricove weighted blanket is made from 100 percent bamboo viscose. Bamboo viscose is a fabric derived from bamboo wood pulp and is known for being cooling, moisture-wicking, hypoallergenic, and silky soft. The shell also has loops on the edges which allow you to attach a duvet cover if desired.
Fill: The Aricove weighted blanket is filled with a mix of 100 percent microfiber polyester and 100 percent glass beads. The beads are what give the blanket its weight. They are evenly distributed throughout the blanket thanks to the gridded stitching, which separates the beads into individual pockets so they can’t pool on one side of the blanket.
The Aricove weighted blanket also comes with a small, duffel-style carrying case.
How Much Does the Aricove Weighted Blanket Weigh?
The Aricove weighted blanket is available in five different weight options: 10 pounds, 12 pounds, 15 pounds, 17 pounds, and 20 pounds.
When choosing a weighted blanket, the rule of thumb is to aim for a blanket that weighs approximately 10 percent of your own body weight. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, then a 15-pound blanket would be ideal for you.
What Does the Aricove Weighted Blanket Feel Like?
I found the Aricove weighted blanket quite pleasant to lay under. The outer shell of the blanket is soft, smooth, and silky and has a slight cool-to-the-touch feel. The weight felt evenly distributed over me, thanks to the gridded stitching. I tested the 15-pound blanket, which was a good size for a single person to lay under.

Is the Aricove Weighted Blanket Good for Hot Sleepers?
I think the Arivcove weighted blanket is a great option for hot sleepers! I was pleasantly surprised by how cool-to-the-touch the bamboo fabric of the outer shell felt when I laid under the blanket and I didn’t feel much warmth being trapped. I did test the Aricove without a cover, which may have contributed to the cooling feel. Aricove does offer a weighted blanket cover, which is also made from bamboo fabric, so it should still maintain a cool temperature.

Read Full ReviewHow Durable is the Aricove Weighted Blanket?
I thought the Aricove felt quite high-quality and well-constructed. I appreciate that it is machine washable, which will help maintain its cleanliness over time. However, to keep it super clean, you may want to invest in a cover for this blanket. Some weighted blankets come with a cover, but you have to purchase one separately for the Aricove.
Additionally, the quilted stitching used to keep the weight distribution even will ensure the glass beads don’t pool on one side of the blanket.
Is the Aricove Weighted Blanket Good for You?
With all that in mind, let’s go over who I think should try the Aricove weighted blanket, as well as some complaints.
Who Should Try the Aricove Weighted Blanket
- If you are a hot sleeper, I think you will love how cool the Aricove blanket feels, thanks to its bamboo shell.
- If you are looking for a specific weight for your weighted blanket, you will likely appreciate how this blanket comes in five different weight options. This allows shoppers to pick a more specific weight to suit them.
- If you want to travel with your weighted blanket, the included carrying case for the Aricove is a great bonus. It’s easy to roll it back up into the case to take it on the go.
Aricove Weighted Blanket Complaints
- I was slightly frustrated that this blanket didn’t come with a cover and you have to purchase one separately if you want one. However, because it is machine washable, you can go without a cover.
- The Aricove only comes in one color option, which is white. (The separate cover is available in white or navy.) This doesn’t leave much room for personal preference or style — plus, white is very easily stained.
- If you are looking for a weighted blanket to share with a partner, the Aricove isn’t the best choice, as each weight option is the same dimensions. The size is best suited for a single person to use.

Aricove Weighted Blanket Vs
To help you finalize your decision, let’s compare the Aricove weighted blanket to some other heavy blankets.
Aricove Weighted Blanket vs Bearaby Cotton Napper Weighted Blanket
- The Bearaby Cotton Napper is a weighted blanket made from heavy cotton blend fabric knitted into an open-weave blanket. This makes it unique among the majority of weighted blankets, as it doesn’t have any weighted fill. Rather, the weight comes from the weight of the fabric alone.
- The open-weave makes the Cotton Napper super breathable. Air can easily flow through the blanket, so you shouldn’t overheat while resting under it.
- The Cotton Napper has a chunky, textured feel but the fabric feels soft and worn-in, like an old T-shirt.
