Who Should Buy Logan & Cove Choice
- While both are good budget options, folks looking to save should go for the Choice, as it is less expensive than the Frontier.
- I think the Logan & Cove Choice is a good pick for back sleepers. It has a medium-firm feel, but is plush enough to provide contouring around the lumbar.
- I also think the Logan & Cove Choice is a good choice (no pun intended!) for many side sleepers, as it offers a good amount of pressure relief on the shoulder and hip.

Who Should Buy Logan & Cove Frontier
- I think stomach sleepers should opt for the Logan & Cove Frontier over the Choice, as I didn’t feel my hips sinking in at all, which is pretty impressive for a softer mattress.
- I also think the Frontier is an excellent choice for combination sleepers. I found it comfortable in all three sleeping positions, which is a pretty rare find. And it is responsive, so it’s easy to switch between sleeping positions.
- Anyone who wants a more luxurious mattress should go for the Frontier. The layer of microcoils and Euro top give this bed a more high-end feel.

Logan & Cove Choice vs Logan & Cove Frontier: Similarities and Differences
As I mentioned before, these two Logan & Cove mattresses are very similar. But there are some notable differences, so here are some of the main takeaways.
Main Similarities
- These beds come from the same company, so they have the same policies, including a 365-night trial, free shipping, and a 15-year warranty. They are also both made in Canada.
- These beds are super similar in construction. I’ll go into this in detail below, but the Frontier is basically an upgraded version of the Choice, and they use many of the same materials.
- Both of these beds are pretty affordable, but feel really high-quality. I think budget shoppers will be happy with them.
Main Differences
- The Frontier has a few extra layers in its construction that the Choice does not have. Primarily, it has a Euro top and a layer of microcoils in addition to the support coils.
- The Frontier is 1 ½ inches taller than the Choice.
- The Frontier can work for all three sleeping positions, while I would recommend the Choice to only back and side sleepers.

Now let’s talk about how these mattresses feel. We like to rate firmness on a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is the softest and 10 is the firmest. We use 6.5 as the standard for medium-firm, the most common mattress firmness. To determine the firmness, we have a few Sleepopolis teammates test the bed and give it a rating. Then we average them together for a final score.
Logan & Cove Choice
We rated the Logan & Cove Choice as a 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, meaning it is a true medium-firm bed. This bed offers a nice mix of pressure relief and support. I felt some light cushioning and pressure relief, but I still overall felt “on top” of the mattress.
Logan & Cove Frontier
We rated the Logan & Cove Frontier as a 6 out of 10, meaning it is just softer than average. The Euro top provides a really plush sleep surface, but the mattress still feels very supportive. I think the microcoil layer provides an extra bit of lift to keep you on top of the bed, while still allowing you to feel the cushioning and sinkage from the Euro top.
Comparing What it’s Like to Sleep on the Logan & Cove Choice and the Logan & Cove Frontier
Let’s go over how different sleepers may feel on these two mattresses. Depending on your primary sleeping position and body type, mattresses may feel and perform differently for you.
We recognize that people come in all shapes and sizes, and people of every size deserve a mattress that works for their body type. We use the weight categories light, average, and heavy to more easily categorize sleepers based on how mattresses will perform for their body type, as most mattresses are designed for the group we call “average” (59 to 113 kilograms, or 130 to 250 pounds).
As a general rule, lighter sleepers don’t require as much support as average weight sleepers, and mattresses will tend to feel firmer to them. On the other hand, heavy sleepers tend to need more support than average weight sleepers and tend to sink into the mattress more.
As far as sleeping positions go, side sleepers tend to need a softer mattress while stomach sleepers usually need a firmer, more supportive one. Back sleepers are usually somewhere in the middle.
Logan & Cove Choice
Back — The Logan & Cove Choice is an excellent choice for most back sleepers. The medium-firm feel is ideal for providing the right mix of pressure relief and support.
Side — I think the Logan & Cove Choice is a solid option for most side sleepers. It has enough cushioning to relieve some pressure around the shoulder and hip, although folks with very sensitive joints may want an even plusher bed.
Stomach — For most stomach sleepers, I think the Logan & Cove Choice is too soft and they will find their hips sinking into the material. Some lightweight stomach sleepers may not sink into the material as much and thus could sleep comfortably on the Choice.
Body Weight — I think the Logan & Cove Choice is a fairly supportive mattress and thus can work for people of all weights. However, I would caution heavier folks to consider this mattress only if they sleep on their back. I don’t think it will provide enough cushioning for heavy side sleepers, and it is way too soft for heavy stomach sleepers.
Logan & Cove Frontier
Back — Like the Choice, the Frontier is an excellent choice for back sleepers. It also has a great mix of comfort and support to maintain spinal alignment.
Side — I think the Frontier is a comfortable option for many side sleepers, but the microcoil layer could lead to pressure point buildup on the shoulder and hip for heavier people or those with sensitive joints.
Stomach — While soft mattresses are usually a no-go for stomach sleepers, I didn’t find my hips sinking into the Frontier at all, which really surprised me. I think the microcoils help to keep the hips lifted up, making this a great choice for many stomach sleepers. Well-supported hips can prevent the back from bowing, which can cause lower back pain.
Body Weight — I think the Frontier can also work for people of all body weights, but like the Choice, I would only recommend it to heavy back sleepers, not heavy side or stomach sleepers.

Materials can tell you a lot about how a mattress will feel and perform, so let’s take a look at what makes up the Logan & Cove Choice and Frontier. Both are hybrid mattresses, meaning they use foam layers and coil layers in their construction.
Logan & Cove Choice
Cover – The Logan & Cove Choice has a quilted cover with cooling fibers incorporated in the material. The quilted pockets are filled with a mix of fiber fill and gel-infused foam.
Comfort Layer – This first layer is what provides initial comfort for the sleeper. The Logan & Cove Choice has a 1-inch section of gel-infused foam.
Transition Layer – This layer provides a transition between the softer comfort layer and the firmer support layer. The Logan & Cove Choice’s transition layer is a 1.5-inch section of what the brand calls “Elastex foam” — it is a foam designed to be more responsive than traditional memory foam.

Cover – The Logan & Cove Frontier has the same quilted cover with cooling fibers incorporated into the fabric as the Choice. The cover is quilted with fiber fill and gel-infused foam for added plushness. The Frontier’s cover is a Euro top, which is a style of pillow top that is stitched flush to the edge of the mattress.
Comfort Layer – The Frontier has the same comfort layer as the Choice, a 1-inch section of gel-infused foam.
Microcoil Layer – Beneath the comfort layer lies a layer of microcoils. These are miniature coils that provide additional support. They are individually pocketed, allowing them to slightly contour around your body.
Transition Layer – This layer serves as a transition between the upper layers and the firm support layer below. The Frontier’s transition layer is a 1 ⅝-inch section of the same Elastex foam used in the Choice.
Support Layer – The final layer of the Frontier is a 9-inch section of individually pocketed coils. These coils serve as the primary support of the mattress and are arranged into five different support zones. That means they are firmer in some parts of the bed and softer in others, in order to promote neutral alignment.
