What are the MagicLinen Sheets Made Of?
Sheets can be made of a wide variety of materials. There are cotton sheets, bamboo sheets, flannel sheets, and more.
The MagicLinen sheets are made from 100 percent European flax. They are stonewashed to reduce coarseness of the linen and enhance softness. Stone washing is a process that increases softness and gives fabric a lived-in look and feel by literally washing it with large stones that beat the fabric as it rotates in the machine.

Additionally, these sheets are produced in Lithuania and are OEKO-TEX certified to be safe and free from harmful chemicals.
You have the option of choosing regular or deep pockets for your fitted sheet. The regular pockets are 10 inches, which will work best for shorter mattresses. The deep pocketed version has 18 inch pockets, which will fit over most taller beds or beds with a mattress topper.
The fitted sheet also features tags to indicate the long and short side of the sheet, simplifying the process of making your bed.
These sheets come in 12 different set options:
- Twin with standard pillowcases
- Full with standard pillowcases
- Full (deep pocket) with standard pillowcases
- Queen with standard pillowcases
- Queen (deep pocket) with standard pillowcases
- Queen with queen pillowcases
- Queen (deep pocket) with queen pillowcases
- King with standard pillowcases
- King (deep pocket) with standard pillowcases
- King with queen pillowcases
- King with king pillowcases
- King (deep pocket) with king pillowcases
Each set includes one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and two pillowcases. I tested the queen size with standard pillowcases for this review.
What Do the MagicLinen Sheets Feel Like?
These sheets have a distinctive feel of linen, but I think the stone washing treatment is effective at cutting down the coarseness in this bedding. The MagicLinen sheets feel considerably smoother than other linen sheets I’ve tested.
They also have a heavier and thicker feel than other linen sheets, so the top sheet feels a little weightier on top of you.
Are MagicLinen Sheets Good for Hot Sleepers?
I think the MagicLinen sheets are a great choice for hot sleepers. One of linen’s best qualities is its breathability. The flax fibers used to make linen are quite hollow — even more so than cotton — which is part of what makes linen fabric so breezy. Additionally, linen sheets tend to have a lower thread count than cotton or other sheet types, which means there’s less material to trap heat.
I felt quite comfortable temperature-wise in these sheets. They felt quite breezy and allowed for lots of airflow as I laid under them. Still, since these sheets are a little thicker, I think they could work well as a year-round sheet for linen-lovers.
How Durable are MagicLinen Sheets?
The MagicLinen sheets felt very durable to me. They feel like they’re made with very high-quality linen, particularly because they are a little thicker and heavier than some other linen sheets. Though they’ve been pre-washed with the stone washing technique, they feel worn-in just enough to be comfortable without compromising quality. MagicLinen specializes in all things linen, so it’s no surprise their quality feels great.
Linen is also known for its durability — if you take care of it, it can last a long time. Plus, linen sheets only get softer the longer you have them and the more you wash them.
Do the MagicLinen Sheets Stay on the Bed?
When I tested the MagicLinen sheets, I tested the regular version, which has 10 inch pockets. With the mattress I used to test, the fitted sheet was a little too small and thus didn’t stay perfectly. If I were to use these sheets full time with a taller bed like that, I would probably opt for the 18-inch deep pocket version to ensure they stay put. Eighteen inches should be more than enough for most mattresses to fit nicely.
Are MagicLinen Sheets Good for You?
Now let’s go over some of my recommendations for who should try the MagicLinen sheets and some of my complaints about them.
Who should try MagicLinen sheets
- If you’re a hot sleeper, you’ll love how breathable these linen sheets are.
- If you don’t like the coarse feel of linen, but still want all its benefits, you’ll probably like how smooth these stonewashed linen sheets are.
- If you value eco-friendly products, you’ll likely appreciate the efforts MagicLinen puts into sustainability (through practices like making products to order, using biodegradable packaging, and using local supply chains.) You’ll also likely appreciate that linen is completely natural and biodegradable.
MagicLinen sheets complaints
- While these sheets feature a smoother feel than other linen bedding, they still feel like linen. If you don’t want a textured feel from your sheets, I’d recommend something other than linen — maybe a percale cotton sheet or bamboo sheet, which are also good cooling materials.
- Similarly, if you prefer a crisp, wrinkle-free look from your sheets, the easily-wrinkled, rumpled look of linen may not be best for you.
- While these sheets are great at temperature regulation, they aren’t the best for moisture-wicking, as linen is an absorbent material.

- Parachute’s linen sheets are made from 100 percent European flax. They are one of the softest linen sheets I’ve ever tested — they’re garment-washed to feel soft right out of the package.
- The pillowcases in this set use envelope-style closures, which means the pillowcases close on the back, instead of one side. That keeps tags, zippers, or the end of the pillow from sticking out.
- Parachute also offers a pretty wide variety of color options.
