The Boll & Branch Percale Hemmed sheets are made from 100 percent organic cotton. They are made of long-staple cotton, which means the fibers of the cotton are longer and less likely to stick out. That reduces the likelihood of pilling and ensures a smooth sheet.
As the name implies, these sheets are made with a percale weave. Percale is a one-over-one-under weave that creates a crisp, breathable, and lightweight fabric. Percale cotton sheets also have a matte finish, meaning they aren’t shiny.
A unique design feature of this sheet set is the long hemlines on the flat sheet and pillowcase. The hems of both pieces are seven inches, which is considerably longer than average. That ensures a great fit, particularly on the pillowcases, as there is some variation in pillow sizes. The longer hemline means your pillow won’t be sticking out of the case if it’s a little larger than average.
Additionally, the fitted sheet has deep pockets — 17 inches — which should be enough to fit around even the tallest of mattresses. The fitted sheet also has an extra-durable elastic to prevent the sheet from coming off the bed.

These sheets definitely feel like percale. They are quite crisp and structured, much like a freshly starched collared shirt. In fact, I thought these were among the crispest percale sheets I’ve tested. If you’re a lover of crisp sheets, these could be great for you. But if you love an ultra-soft feel, these could feel somewhat brittle to you.
Additionally, I thought the Boll & Branch Percale Hemmed sheets felt quite smooth and cool. I also liked the use of the longer hemlines, as it gave me lots of fitted sheet to snuggle up with and ensured my pillows were completely covered by the pillowcase.

Overall, I thought these sheets felt quite high-quality and durable. They felt well-made, particularly with the attention to detail at the hemlines and elastic on the fitted sheet. Additionally, the use of long-staple cotton should ensure good quality over time, as longer cotton fibers are less likely to pill.

The Boll & Branch Percale Hemmed sheets stayed on the bed, with no issue for me. The deep pockets were easily large enough to fit around the mattress I tested with, which was averagely sized. If you have a particularly short bed, you may have to tuck some excess fabric underneath the mattress.
