In this comparison, I’ll be sizing up two of the most popular mattresses in the game: Casper and Endy. Though these all-foam beds have a lot in common, they’re certainly not created equal, which means landing on the right one for you is going to be a little trickier than you might think. That’s why I’m going to compare these two mattresses side-by-side so you can figure out all their differences in a jiffy.
So, without further ado, let’s dive into this Casper vs Endy mattress comparison.

Endy vs Casper: Which is Better for You?
The Endy and the Casper original are both all-foam bed-in-a-box mattresses. They do share a lot of similarities, but you may prefer one over the other depending on your preferred sleeping position and body type. Take a look below to see which might be better for your needs. And check out my full Endy mattress review and Casper mattress review to get even more details.
Who Should Buy Endy
- Hot sleepers could prefer the Endy mattress. While both beds sleep cool, the Endy is just a little more cooling than the Casper.
- Combination sleepers might prefer the Endy. It’s a bit more responsive than the Casper, which makes it easier to change positions at night.
- Budget shoppers might prefer the Endy, which is significantly less expensive than the Casper.
The Endy mattress is a bouncy, medium-firm mattress that should appeal to back sleepers and combo sleepers. It's also made with a breathable foam, so it sleeps nice and cool.

Who Should Buy Casper
- Sleepers with back pain should opt for the Casper mattress. It features a zoned support system, where the foams are firmer in certain parts of the bed and softer in others. Essentially, it provides extra support around the lower back and extra softness around the shoulders. We think it’s one of the best mattresses for back pain out there.
- That softness around the shoulders also makes the Casper the best option for side sleepers, who should achieve a neutral spinal alignment on the Casper thanks to the extra sinkage in that area.
- US residents should stick to the Casper mattress. While Casper and Endy are both available in Canada, only the Casper ships in the US.
The Casper Original is an all-foam mattress that is a great option for back sleepers who want a balance of support and pressure relief. Combination sleepers will appreciate this mattress's responsiveness, which makes it easy to change positions throughout the night.
We recommend this mattress for the following sleeper types: Financing options are available for this mattress. "From the delivery of the box to the magical unfolding of the king size mattress to the first time laying on the bed, all smiles here! I have traveled for work for years, often sleeping on different beds at different hotels night after night."

Endy vs Casper: Similarities and Differences
As I mentioned in the intro, these two mattresses do share some interesting characteristics, so let’s get an overview of these beds’ key similarities and differences before we move on.
Main Similarities
- The Endy and Casper are both built entirely of foam. Neither is supportive enough for heavier people (over 250 pounds). I’d recommend these folks go with one of our best innerspring mattresses or instead. Or they could check out our list of the best mattresses for heavy people.
- Both of these mattresses sleep cool, though the Endy sleeps a bit cooler than the Casper. So it might be the better mattress for hot sleepers.
- Both of these beds are responsive, so you’ll feel more “on top of” than “hugged by” these mattresses. If you prefer a more body-contouring feel, check out one of our best memory foam mattresses instead.
Main Differences
- The Casper is a firm mattress, and the Endy is a medium-firm mattress.
- Endy is a Canadian mattress company, while Casper is an American company that has expanded to Canada.
- The Endy features better motion isolation than the Casper, which means you’re less likely to feel disturbed by a restless partner on the Endy mattress.
Endy and Casper Mattress Feel Comparison
Now that we’ve got a good sense of the basics, let’s get into how these mattresses feel, starting with firmness. Since every sleeper is going to experience firmness a little differently (depending on body shape, size, and weight), I always like to invite a few of my coworkers to test out a new bed with me. Once we’ve each given it a try, we share our personal firmness ratings with one another, and then average them out together for the scores you see below.
Endy
We were all pretty much in agreement about the firmness of the Endy, landing on an average rating of 6.5, which syncs up perfectly with the industry standard for medium firmness. I found the Endy’s mix of open-cell memory foam and poly foam created a true medium-firm feel.
Though I experienced some slight sinkage as I stretched out on the bed, I never felt stuck in the mattress. On the contrary, I found it easy to move around and change positions. This tells me the Endy could be a fantastic pick for combination sleepers or anyone else who likes to move around in the night.
While this mattress finds a nice sweet spot between pressure relief and support, I think its three-layer construction makes for a bit of an “abrupt” feel that may not work for strict-position sleepers. What I mean is that those who doze primarily on their sides, stomachs, or backs may feel as though their bodies are “digging” into the bed slightly.
Casper
There was some slight variation here, but my testers and I landed on an average rating of 7 out of 10. This is slightly higher than the industry standard of 6.5 for medium firmness, which tells me this bed is a touch on the firmer side.
I personally gave the Casper a 7, as I found its diverse material make-up helped lift me up and out of the structure. While you’re likely to sink through its comfort and contour layers, once you hit the section of Zoned Support (which is firmer at the hips and softer at the shoulders), you’re bound to experience plenty of firm support. What this means is that you get the best of both worlds, aka sinkage without feeling “stuck” in the structure. Side sleepers who occasionally switch to other positions might find this vibe particularly attractive.
As I moved around the bed, I felt pretty well supported, thanks in large part to the Zoned Support layer. Even though some positions were more comfortable than others, I think most sleepers will find a great deal of comfort from this mattress, especially those who need targeted pressure relief at the shoulders and hips.
Comparing What it’s Like to Sleep on the Endy and the Casper
To give you an even better idea of what it’s like to sleep on these beds, I tested each in the three major sleeping positions. Take a look at my results below.
Endy
Back – The Endy was most comfortable when I was on my back. Most back sleepers should find this bed fairly comfortable, especially if they alternate between their back and another position at night.
Side – The Endy felt a bit too firm to me when I was on my side. I’d recommend side sleepers look for a mattress with softer foam layers than the Endy. One of our best mattresses for side sleepers could do the trick.
Stomach – Stomach sleepers will likely find the Endy a bit too soft for their needs. Their hips may sink out of alignment with their shoulders on this bed, which can lead to back pain over time. I’d recommend these sleepers go with one of our best mattresses for stomach sleepers instead.
Body Weight – The Endy might feel softer to particularly light people, who don’t sink all the way through its memory foam top layer. On the other hand, heavy people might sink through its top layers straight on to its support foams. These folks might find the Endy puts uncomfortable weight on their pressure points. I’d recommend they opt for one of our best mattresses for heavy people instead.
Casper
Back – The Casper also felt comfortable on my back. I felt a lot of nice lumbar support in this position, which I appreciated.
Side – The Casper felt more comfortable than the Endy on my side because it’s soft around the shoulder area. But, I think strict side sleepers might prefer an even plusher mattress. If you’re a strict side sleeper set on the Casper, I’d recommend adding a soft mattress topper.
Stomach – Like the Endy, the Casper is a little too soft for strict stomach sleepers. Generally, I recommend these folks stick to hybrid mattresses that offer more innerspring support and bounce.
Body Weight – The Casper might feel firmer to lighter people and softer to heavier people. Like the Endy, this all-foam mattress doesn’t feature quite enough center or edge support for heavier bodies. I’d recommend these sleepers stick to firm innerspring beds like the Saatva mattress.

Comparing Endy and Casper Mattress Materials
In this section, I’m going to go over each bed’s unique construction, all the way from cover to base.
Endy
Cover — Made of a knit polyester fabric, the Endy’s cover is soft and breathable. It’s also removable, so it can be thrown in the wash with the rest of your bedding.
Comfort Layer — The Endy’s comfort layer is made of the brand’s proprietary Endy Foam, an open-cell memory foam that has a fairly slow response to pressure. It’s worth noting that the open-cell design also helps mitigate some of memory foam’s heat trapping tendencies.
Transition Layer — Next up, you’ll find a layer of poly foam. Firmer than the material above it, this section helps to transition the sleeper from the gentle comfort layer onto the firmer base below. It also helps to counteract some of the sinkage of the top layer, preventing that stuck-in-the-bed feeling.
Base Layer — Rounding out the construction is a foundation layer of high-density poly foam, which gives the bed its durability and shape.
Casper
Cover – Crafted of a soft polyester blend, the Casper’s mattress cover is also removable by zipper.
Comfort Layer – The Casper’s top layer is made of their proprietary AirScape foam. This foam is a latex alternative that feels bouncy and cooling, just like a latex mattress might.
Contour Layer – Below the comfort layer, you’ll land on a section of zoned memory foam. Unlike the material above it, this foam has a slow response to pressure, resulting in some deep body-contouring and pressure relief. This layer is also zoned for support, which means its softer at the hips for extra lumbar support, and softer at the shoulders for extra pressure relief.
Base Layer – The base of the bed is made of heavy-duty poly foam and gives the mattress its structure.
Endy vs Casper: Best Qualities
Well friends, we’ve arrived at the end of this comparison. After sizing up these mattresses side-by-side it’s time to draw some final conclusions.
Casper Best Features
- One of my favorite things about the Casper is its layer of Zoned Support. This helps to bring some much needed relief to sensitive spots along the body.
- I also like this bed for side sleepers. Thanks to the Zoned Support, these folks should be able to find some great comfort at their shoulders.
- The Casper has a gentle, balanced foam feel that many different sleepers should find comfortable.

Endy Best Features
- Thanks to its top layer of open-cell memory foam, the Endy sleeps cool, which could be great for those who need a breather from those sweaty nights.
- And as I mentioned a few times throughout the review, I think the bounce of the bed makes it an awesome fit for combination sleepers.
- The Endy is also affordable, making it a nice option for budget shoppers.

Comparing Endy and Casper Customer Service
I like to rate each mattress brand’s customer service team on a scale of Stellar, Great, Satisfactory, or Poor. This helps give you an idea of what it might be like to purchase a bed from one of these companies.
Endy Sleepopolis Customer Service Rating
Stellar: I really liked Endy’s customer service set up. Their chat feature pairs you with a robot right away that’s able to answer simple questions about things like box springs and mattress cleaning. Then, if you want more help, the bot gives you several options for contacting a customer service rep, including a live chat. I was paired with a customer service rep right away on the live chat feature.
Casper Sleepopolis Customer Service Rating
Great: I was paired with a customer service representative pretty quickly using Casper’s live chat feature. They were helpful and thorough when addressing my question.
Comparing Other Models from Endy and Casper
Though the original Endy mattress is its brand’s lone mattress ranger, Casper actually offers quite a few models. Below, I’ll break down two of its most popular beds: the Element and the Wave Hybrid.
Casper Element
- The Element is Casper’s budget mattress, and is built similarly to the Endy.
- The Element also has a firm feel, but it doesn’t feature any Zoned Support.
- The Element might work well for back and stomach sleepers.
- For more, check out my full Casper Element mattress review.
I think this bed is a nice choice for couples (especially those on a budget). It is bouncy and responsive, but also isolates motion quite well, the two things you’ll want to tick off your list if you’re shopping with your partner

Casper Wave Hybrid
- Pretty much the opposite of the Element in every respect, the Casper Wave Hybrid is a luxury model built with both foam and coil layers.
- This gentle combo makes it well-suited for those in need of deep pressure relief, particularly strict side sleepers.
- Heavier people looking for steel coil support might be happy on the Wave Hybrid.
- Get the full scoop in my complete Casper Wave Hybrid mattress review.
The Wave Hybrid does a great job combining support and softness to strike a great balance between pressure relief and lift. This is especially nice for sleepers who struggle with back pain or heavy people in need of durable support.

Our Review Process
At Sleepopolis, our team of Certified Sleep Science Coaches personally test and review each mattress. We start by unboxing the mattress to figure out how difficult (or easy) it is to get the mattress from the box to the bed. Then, we spend time laying on the bed in different positions, taking time to assess it on our backs, stomachs, and sides. Next, we perform our Sleepopolis tests, using specialized tools to measure qualities like motion transfer, bounce, and pressure relief. Our last step is to open up the mattress and take a look at each layer. These steps allow us to give our final verdict on the mattress. Jump back to our mattress picks.
