Now if you’re not too familiar with weighted blankets, you’re probably wondering what the heck this blanket is made with that makes it weighted! There are a lot of different materials used in weighted blankets, but the Hush Classic uses non-toxic glass sand. That glass sand is contained in quilted 4-inch pockets in the inner blanket, which is made of a soft microfiber material (or microfibre, as they would spell it in Hush’s homeland Canada!).

How Much Does the Hush Classic Weighted Blanket Weigh?
The Hush Classic Weighted Blanket is available in a variety of size and weight options. The teen size blanket, which is the size of a throw blanket, is 12 pounds. The twin size is available in 15-pound or 20-pound weights — I tested the 15-pound twin for this review. The queen size is available in 20-pound or 25-pound sizes and the king size is available in 30-pound or 35-pound sizes.
What Does the Hush Classic Weighted Blanket Feel Like?
When I tested the Hush blanket, I thought it was super cozy. I absolutely loved the feel of the outer cover, which is really soft and velvety. It’s definitely the type of material I love to snuggle up under. I also thought the inner blanket’s material felt nice — it’s a much smoother type of soft, so I think it would also be really pleasant to use without the outer cover.

Is the Hush Classic Weighted Blanket Good for Hot Sleepers?
One concern many people have about weighted blankets is that they’ll be too warm under them. In my experience, I did find the Hush Classic weighted blanket to be pretty toasty. Just sitting under it on my couch at home, I started to get pretty warm. If you’re a naturally-cold person like me, you’ll probably love how warm this blanket is! But if you run hot, it may present some issues. For a less toasty experience, I think you could just go without the outer cover. I like that you have that flexibility with this blanket, because you could use the warm outer cover in colder months and take it off in warmer weather. If you’re a super hot sleeper though, you may want to consider the Hush Iced 2.0 instead.
How Durable is the Hush Classic Weighted Blanket?
Overall, I thought the Hush Classic weighted blanket felt very high quality. All of the materials feel really nice and the zippers used to hold the outer cover and inner blanket together feel sturdy and durable. Having the washable removable cover will also ensure that your weighted blanket stays pristine over time.Hush Weighted Blanket

Now that you have a better understanding of this blanket, let’s go over my recommendations for who should consider buying it.Who Should Try the Hush Classic Weighted Blanket
- If you love soft, velvety, fuzzy blankets, you will absolutely love the feel of the outer cover on the Hush Classic weighted blanket. I’m speaking from personal experience here, because those are my favorite kinds of blankets and I loved the feel of the Hush!
- If you’re looking for a weighted blanket to share with a partner, the Hush Classic is a great option, since they offer those larger size options like queen and king.
- If easy cleaning options are important to you, I think you’ll definitely appreciate the removable cover. Just toss it in the wash and hang to dry! While the inner blanket is hand-wash only, many other blankets are spot-clean only.
Hush Classic Weighted Blanket Complaints
- If you sleep really hot, the Hush Classic may not be the best weighted blanket for you. It’s not particularly cooling or breathable, although you can remove the outer cover to reduce the warmth a bit.
- If you weigh more than 200 pounds, there isn’t a great weight option for you with this blanket, unless you want to buy the queen or king size for a single person to use. The highest weight for the twin size is 20 pounds, so people who weigh more than 200 pounds would need a higher weight for the blanket to equal 10 percent of their body weight.
- If you want a specific color, your options are somewhat limited here, as the Hush Classic is only available in one color.
