Now let’s talk about how these mattresses feel. Here at Sleepopolis we rate mattress’s firmness on a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is the softest and 10 is the firmest. We use 6.5 as the standard for medium-firm. To determine the firmness, we test out lying on the mattress in different sleeping positions and gather the opinions of multiple teammates.
DreamCloud Premier
We rated the DreamCloud Premier as a 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale, meaning it is just firmer than average. Overall, our testers felt it had a nice mix of pressure relief from the upper layers and sturdy support from the coil layer below.
DreamCloud Premier Rest
We rated the DreamCloud Premier Rest as a 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, so it is just around medium-firm. It is softer than the DreamCloud Premier, but not completely soft. Our testers found the pillow top layer offered lots of plush pressure relief, but they still felt good support.
Comparing What it’s Like to Sleep on the DreamCloud Premier and the DreamCloud Premier Rest
Depending on your body type and primary sleeping position, a mattress may work better or worse for you. No bed is one size fits all! Let’s go over how different types of sleepers may feel on each of these mattresses.
DreamCloud Premier
Back — The DreamCloud Premier should be a good choice for back sleepers all around. It offers plenty of support for spinal alignment, while also offering some plushness for comfort.
Side — We found the DreamCloud Premier a bit too firm for most side sleepers. Some heavy side sleepers may find the bed soft enough, but overall we think side sleepers will do better on a bed with more pressure relief.
Stomach — Lightweight stomach sleepers and some average-weight stomach sleepers could sleep comfortably on the DreamCloud Premer, but most stomach sleepers will likely want a firmer bed to ensure their hips are propped up to maintain spinal alignment and prevent back pain.
Body Weight — Sleepers of all three weight categories — lightweight (under 130 pounds), average weight (130 to 250 pounds), or heavyweight (over 250 pounds) — should be able to sleep comfortably on the DreamCloud Premier, depending on their primary sleeping position. Back sleepers of all three weight categories should feel well supported.
DreamCloud Premier Rest
Back — Like the DreamCloud Premier, the Premier Rest should work well for most back sleepers. It offers a similar blend of comfort and support, with just a bit more plushness thanks to the pillow top layer.
Side — Most side sleepers should also be more comfortable on the DreamCloud Premier Rest. The plush pillow top does an excellent job of relieving pressure around the shoulder and hip for these sleepers.
Stomach — Overall, the DreamCloud Premier Rest is too soft for most stomach sleepers. Lightweight stomach sleepers could do well on this bed, as they won’t sink in as much as average or heavy sleepers would, so their hips will stay propped up.
Body Weight — Much like the DreamCloud Premier, the DreamCloud Premier Rest can work for all three weight categories, depending on their sleeping position. Light, average, and heavy back and side sleepers should all do well on the DreamCloud Premier, while only light stomach sleepers will receive enough support from this bed.

DreamCloud offers a chat line, phone line, and email with their customer service team, seven days a week. I tested out their chat feature and received a quick, helpful response to my question.
Additionally, DreamCloud offers white glove delivery service. You do have to pay an additional fee, but it’s a great service to have available along with your mattress purchase. White glove delivery means a team will set up your new mattress in your bedroom and take your old mattress away, so it’s great for folks who might struggle with setting the mattress up on their own — or who just don’t want to deal with the hassle.
