Emma Hybrid Comfort
We rated the Emma Hybrid Comfort as a 7.5 out of 10, meaning it is significantly firmer than average. With a firm feel, you’ll definitely feel more “on top” of the Emma Hybrid Comfort, rather than sinking into it.
The Emma Hybrid Comfort is a 13-inch mattress with great cooling, edge support, and motion isolation. These qualities make it a good mattress for couples. While it is a responsive mattress, it is lacking in bounce and there is some sinkage when sitting along the edge. The Emma Hybrid Comfort should be comfortable for most back and stomach sleepers, as it provides sturdy support for neutral spinal alignment. This mattress would be too firm for side sleepers, with a lack of pressure relief around the shoulders and hips.
Nectar
We rated the Nectar a 6 out of 10, meaning it just softer than average. This bed definitely keeps you more “in the bed” than “on top,” due to the contouring the plush foams offer.
The Nectar is a 12-inch, all-foam mattress. It has good motion isolation and pressure relief around the back and shoulders, due to the deep sinkage and contouring of the layers. The Nectar is better than most memory foam mattresses at keeping cool and has decent edge support. There isn’t much bounce to the mattress, however.
Comparing What it’s Like to Sleep on the Emma Hybrid Comfort and the Nectar
Depending on your weight and preferred sleeping position, your body will need support and pressure relief in different areas.
We recognize that people come in all shapes and sizes, and people of every size deserve a mattress that works for their body type. We use the weight categories light, average, and heavy to more easily categorize sleepers based on how mattresses will perform for their body type, as most mattresses are designed for the group we call “average” (130 to 250 pounds).
As a general rule, lighter sleepers don’t require as much support as average weight sleepers, and mattresses will tend to feel firmer to them. On the other hand, heavy sleepers tend to need more support than average weight sleepers and tend to sink into the mattress more.
As far as sleeping positions go, side sleepers tend to need a softer mattress while stomach sleepers usually need a firmer, more supportive one. Back sleepers are usually somewhere in the middle.

Back — This mattress is good for light and average weight back sleepers who want a firmer feel, and should be very comfortable for heavy back sleepers.
