Puffy Lux
The Puffy Lux is Puffy’s all-foam luxury mattress.
- Cover –The Puffy Lux cover is made of a thin polyester blend. Although fairly basic in terms of design and comfort, it is stain-resistant and easily removable to wash.
- Comfort Layer – Beneath the cover is a two-inch comfort layer of gel memory foam, colloquially referred to by Puffy as Cooling Cloud Foam. Per the name, the foam contains gel microbeads that trap less heat than other types of memory foam. Not only do they help keep the mattress cool—they respond slowly to pressure, allowing the sleeper to sink into the mattress. This is the same comfort layer found in the original Puffy mattress.
- Contour Layer – This is where the plush luxury element comes in. Unlike the original Puffy mattress, the Puffy Lux has an additional two inches of memory foam that makes for greater contouring, hug, and pressure relief.
- Transition Layer – Next is a two-inch layer of poly foam. Firmer than the memory foam, the transition layer is meant to provide support as you sink further into the mattress. It’s also more resistant to pressure, designed to cradle sleepers and keep them from sinking into the mattress too far down into the bed.
- Support Layer – Finally, the Puffy Lux has a six-inch base layer of high-density poly foam. Firmer than everything above it, the base layer supports the other foam layers, gives the mattress its shape, and—most importantly—provides sturdy support to the sleeper.

This is the brand’s original bed-in-a-box mattress.
- Cover – Made of a knit polyester blend, the Casper mattress‘ cover has a soft and stretchy feel to it for comfort and durability.
- Comfort Layer – Next comes a layer of perforated Airscape foam. The perforations permit healthy airflow in the mattress throughout the night, which helps the bed sleep cool. The foam itself has a slow responsiveness to pressure, so sleepers can sink ever so slightly for pressure relief at the shoulders and hips. You should be able roll around and change positions fairly easily.
- Transition Layer – The transition layer on the Casper mattress is a little bit more complex than the foam layers above it. Its memory foam provides zoned support, which essentially means that the foam has been divided up into three sections, all with a different level of firmness. For example, soft foam at the shoulders gives a small amount of pressure relief while firmer foam at the hips gives a slight lift. The balanced texture works toward a healthy, neutral spinal alignment. The Airscape foam above prevents the transition layer from succumbing to the usual memory foam drawbacks of heat and slow mobility.

Casper Sleepopolis Customer Service Rating
Great: I gave Casper a Great score because there was an automated response on their website that was able to answer the question I had. Speaking to a live agent on the phone took a little more time (no longer than 15 minutes), but I was more than satisfied with the comprehensive answers from the automated response.
