If you’ve been following the direct to consumer mattress space for the past few years, you’re probably familiar with Helix mattresses. Typically, you can get Helix mattresses from its retail website, but over the past few years, the company has been teaming up with mattress retailers across the country to make their mattresses more accessible to consumers across the country.

Helix is once again teaming up with yet another trusted sleep retailer to bring their mattresses to customers in brick and mortar stores across the country. Today, the mattress company announced via a press release distributed to Sleepopolis that they would be teaming up with Sit N’ Sleep to bring Helix mattresses to customers across Southern California.

In the press release announcing the partnership, Jerry Lin, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Operations at 3Z Brands (which owns Helix), the company is “thrilled to bring on Sit ‘n Sleep as another valued retail partner,” and praised their retail partner saying that “”Sit ‘n Sleep is an iconic brand and a trusted household name across Southern California. Their commitment to helping people find the right mattress for their specific sleep needs, body type, and health aligns perfectly with the mission of our retail program, making this a perfect partnership.” (1)

Sit N’ Sleep is a “market-leading mattress retailer in Southern California,” with 36 established retail locations across the southern region of California. Nelson Bercier, President of Sit N’ Sleep said that Sit N’ Sleep is “thrilled to have added Helix to our Brand assortment,” and “they started with a great roll-out to our sales associates and products sold from day one! Helix has proven to be a strong contender in product assortment.” (1)

Which Helix Mattresses Will Be Available at Sit N’ Sleep?

Beginning in August, Sit N’ Sleep will begin carrying five of Helix’s mattresses at the company’s 36 retail locations. More specifically, customers will be able to test out and purchase the Helix Premier mattress, the Helix Midnight Core, the Helix Midnight Luxe, the Helix Twilight Luke, and the Helix Kids mattress.  (1)

Sit N’ Sleep will be the first retailer to carry the Helix Premiere mattress, which Helix specifically designed for brick and mortar stores. According to the press release detailing the partnership, the Helix Premier mattress “offers ultra-high-density comfort with seven meticulously designed layers, including high-density memory foams, advanced GlacioTexTM Elite technology, full perimeter edge support, and ultra-supportive zoned lumbar coils.” (1)

Additionally, customers who purchase the Helix Midnight Core or the Helix Midnight Luxe will have the opportunity to add an “ultra-popular GlacioTexTM cooling cover on both the Midnight Core and Midnight Luxe models.” (1)

Is It Better to Buy a Mattress In-Store Or Online?

It can be hard to decide whether or not to buy your next mattress in-store or online, since there are some pretty compelling pros and cons either way.

When it comes to buying a mattress online, you will usually save a bit of money as compared to buying one in store. According to experts, these savings occur because there is no middleman between you and the mattress that you want to buy. However, one of the major downsides is that you cannot test out the mattress you want to buy before you purchase it. Although, many online mattress retailers offer a very generous return window. For example, Helix offers a 100-day return window for their mattresses.

Buying a mattress in-store is a bit more expensive, since the store selling the mattress has to make money somehow, but getting to try out the mattress before you purchase it can be invaluable to some people. If you have specific sleep needs, or are simply picky about what kind of mattress you use, buying in-store allows you to test out each mattress available to you before you take the plunge on one.
