What are the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets Made Of?
With so many different materials out there to make sheets from, it’s one of the most important factors to consider when shopping for sheets. There are cotton sheets, bamboo sheets, linen sheets, and many more.
The Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed sheets are made from 100 percent long-staple organic cotton. Long-staple cotton is preferable over short-staple, as the longer fibers are more durable and less likely to pill.
Additionally, these sheets are made in a sateen weave. Sateen is a four over, one under weave (as opposed to a one over, one under percale weave), which gives the fabric a smoother, more satiny feel and lustrous finish.
This sheet set is available in eight sizes (I tested a queen size set for this review):
- Twin (one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, one standard pillowcase)
- Twin XL (one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, one standard pillowcase)
- Full (one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, two standard pillowcases)
- Queen (one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, two standard pillowcases)
- King (one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, two king pillowcases)
- King with Standard Cases (one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, two standard pillowcases)
- California King (one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, two king pillowcases)
- Split King (one flat sheet, two fitted sheets, two king pillowcases)
The fitted sheets feature deep pockets, at 17 inches. It also has elastic banding around the entire sheet that’s designed for a secure fit. The flat sheet and pillowcases feature long hemlines, which are seven inches.
What Do the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets Feel Like?
I thought the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed sheets delivered nicely on a classic sateen feel: soft, buttery, and smooth feel.
I also really liked having the longer hemlines on the pillowcase and fitted sheet. I’m the type of person who likes to pull my fitted sheet up and snuggle into it, so having that extra fabric made these sheets feel extra cozy. Similarly with the pillowcase, the longer hemline ensured that my pillow wasn’t sticking out of the end of the case.
Are the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets Good for Hot Sleepers?
If you’re a hot sleeper, having sheets that keep you cool can be essential. Normally, sateen sheets are quite thick and not very breathable, so they tend not to be the best choice for hot sleepers. However, I found these sheets to be fairly light and breathable. Now, I wouldn’t say they are as airy as a percale weave sheet would be, but if you like sateen and run a little warm, these could be a good option for you.

How Durable are Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets?
I thought the Boll & Branch sheets felt quite high quality. The cotton felt durable and sturdy, particularly because it has long staples. Long staples won’t stick out of the weave, like short staples do over time, which ensures a smoother sheet, less pilling, and overall better quality.
Do the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets Stay on the Bed?
The Boll & Branch Signature sheets have very deep pockets. They are 17 inches, which is more than enough to fit most mattresses. If you have a taller bed, these should fit easily. However, I would caution that shoppers with beds with a lower profile might find the fitted sheet too loose.
Are the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets Good for You?
With all that in mind, let’s go over who I recommend the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed sheets for, as well as some complaints.
Who should try Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed sheets
- If you love a soft, buttery sheet, the classic sateen feel of the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed sheets should be a good fit for you.
- If you have a tall mattress or a mattress topper, the deep, 17-inch pockets of the fitted sheet in this set will easily fit your mattress.
- If you’re looking for quality, luxury sheets, these are a good choice for you. These sheets are made with organic, long-staple cotton, which is very durable.
Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets Complaints
- If you prefer a crisp feel from your sheets, the ultra-soft Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed sheets might not work for you. I’d suggest checking out their percale sheets instead.
- If you have a low-profile mattress, the fitted sheet in the Signature Hemmed sheet set may be too large and fit loosely on your bed.
- If you like bold color options, the earth tones and neutrals Boll & Branch offers may disappoint you.

Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets Vs
If you are still debating whether or not these are the right sheets for you, here are a few comparisons to help you decide.
Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets vs Boll & Branch Percale Hemmed Sheets
- The Boll & Branch Percale Hemmed sheets are similar to the Signature. They are also made from 100 percent organic long-staple cotton. However, the difference is they have a percale weave instead of sateen. Percale offers a much crisper, lighter feel than sateen.
- These were among the crispest bed sheets I’ve ever tested, so if you love the feel of a freshly laundered collared shirt, these will likely appeal to you more than the Signature Hemmed sheets.
- However, I also found these sheets to wrinkle extremely easily.

- The Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets are made from 100 percent long-staple cotton in a sateen weave, much like the Boll & Branch ones. They have a 480-thread count and are a best-seller for Brooklinen.
- These sheets have a super smooth, buttery, and satiny feel. They are also fairly breathable for a sateen sheet.
- Brooklinen offers their sheets in a very wide variety of color and pattern options, so these may be a good choice for those who like a bolder sheet.

Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets vs Parachute Sateen Sheets
- The Parachute Sateen sheets are made from 100 percent long-staple Egyptian cotton in a sateen weave.
- These are among the softest sheets I’ve ever tested. I found them to be super soft and smooth, perfect for snuggling up in after a long day.
- The pillowcases feature an envelope-style closure, which ensures no ends of the pillow are sticking out as they close on the back instead of on a side.
