What are the Snowe Sateen Sheets Made Of?

Sheets come in a wide variety of materials. There are cotton sheets, bamboo sheets, linen sheets, and many more.

P1053696 1

The Snowe Sateen sheets are made from 100 percent long-staple cotton. Long-staple cotton is desirable because it creates a smoother, more durable sheet. The longer fibers are less likely to stick out or cause pilling over time than with short-staple cotton.

These sheets are made, as the name suggests, in a sateen weave. Sateen is a style of weave that has multiple threads woven over and one thread woven under, as compared to a percale weave, which is one-over-one-under. Most sateen weaves will have three or four threads woven over. This creates a thicker, shinier, and softer feel.

Additionally, the Snowe Sateen sheets have a 400-thread count, which is a good range for sateen sheets. Learn more about thread count in our best thread count guide

These sheets are made in Portugal and are OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified, meaning they surpassed the highest standards for chemical safety.

The Snowe Sateen sheet set is available in four different sizes: full, queen, king, and California king. Each set comes with one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and two pillowcases. The fitted sheet in this set has a 17-inch pocket, which is on the larger side and should easily fit most mattresses.

What Do the Snowe Sateen Sheets Feel Like?

P1053711

I found these sheets to be super satiny and buttery soft — I felt like I could roll around in them all day. These are true to the classic sateen feel and would make a great choice for anyone who likes the feel of silk. The higher thread count in these sheets also makes them feel quite thick and weighty. Overall, these feel extremely luxurious and high-end.

Are the Snowe Sateen Sheets Good for Hot Sleepers?

Despite their frigid name, I did not think these sheets were the best choice for hot sleepers. In general, sateen sheets tend to be thicker and less breathable than percale cotton sheets — not ideal for hot sleepers. The higher amount of threads and tighter weave leaves less room for air to flow through the fabric.

Plus, these sheets have a considerably higher thread count than some other sateen sheets I’ve tested that were lighter and more breathable. However, these thicker sateen sheets would be fantastic for use in the winter or for my fellow (and seemingly rare) cold sleepers out there.

How Durable are Snowe Sateen Sheets?

Durability is an important factor when choosing new sheets. I think the Snowe Sateen sheets are quite durable. The use of long-staple cotton will prevent pilling and maintain a smoother texture over time. Cotton is also a fairly durable material, but do be sure to follow the proper care instructions for these sheets to keep them feeling high quality. I’ll go over how to wash the Snowe Sateen sheets in the FAQ section below.

Do the Snowe Sateen Sheets Stay on the Bed?

I had no issues with the Snowe Sateen sheets staying on the bed. The deep, 17-inch pockets on the fitted sheet did a great job of completely encasing the mattress I tested on. Seventeen inches is a pretty big pocket, so most mattresses should easily fit. However, if you have a shorter mattress, this fitted sheet may actually be too loose. I recommend measuring your mattress before buying to ensure a good fit.

Are Snowe Sateen Sheets Good for You?

With all that in mind, let’s go over my recommendations for the Snowe Sateen sheets.

P1053714

Who should try Snowe Sateen sheets

  • If you love a luxurious, silky sheet, these will be right up your alley. I felt so fancy laying in these sheets — they are satiny, soft, and so shiny.
  • If you are a cold sleeper, this thicker sateen sheet should do a great job of keeping you warm, particularly in the winter months.
  • If you have a tall mattress, this fitted sheet will easily fit over your bed, as it features 17-inch pockets.

Snowe Sateen sheets complaints

  • If you want a twin or twin XL sheet set, the Snowe Sateen sheets won’t be a match for you. They are only offered in full, queen, king, and California king sizes.
  • If you are a hot sleeper, I don’t think you will be a big fan of these sheets. They are thick and don’t allow for much airflow.
  • If you’re looking for a crisper feel, this ultra-soft sateen set won’t meet your needs. I recommend the Snowe Percale sheet set, which you can learn about in our Snowe sheets review that compares the brand’s sateen and percale options.

Color is something worth considering when shopping for new sheets. If the look of your bedroom is important to you, it doesn’t matter if you’ve found the best bed sheets for you if they don’t come in a color that compliments your bedroom.

Snowe offers their sateen sheets in a few different colors: Essential White, Slate Blue, and Ash Grey. The set I tested for this review was Essential White.

Snowe Sateen Sheets Policies and FAQs

How do the Snowe Sateen sheets ship?

Snowe offers free shipping on orders over $100. All other orders come with a $5 flat rate for standard shipping in the contiguous United States.

Do the Snowe Sateen sheets come with a sleep trial?

Snowe offers a 60-night trial period with these sheets. You can test them out at home and if you aren’t satisfied, you can return, exchange, or replace them — but note that you will be charged a $9.99 return fee if you choose to return. Returned items will be refunded.

How do I clean the Snowe Sateen sheets?

The Snowe Sateen sheets are machine washable. Snowe recommends washing them separately from other items in warm water, on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low and iron on low, if desired. If you want to ensure a wrinkle-free look without ironing, take your sheets out of the drier immediately and either fold them or put them on your bed.

What other sheets does Snowe sell?

Snowe also offers linen sheets and cotton percale sheets. See our Snowe Linen sheets review to learn more about their linen offerings or our Snowe sheets review (where we compare these sateen sheets to the percale ones) to learn more about the percale sheets.

Snowe Sateen Sheets Vs

Still deciding if these are the right sheets to help you get a good night’s sleep? Here’s a few comparisons to finalize your decision.

Snowe Sateen Sheets vs Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets

  • The Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets are made from 100 percent long-staple cotton in a sateen weave, like the Snowe Sateen sheets. However, they have a higher thread count of 480.
  • Despite that higher thread count, I actually found the Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets to feel fairly lightweight, so they might be a better option for warmer sleepers.
  • However, the Snowe Sateen sheets definitely have a more satiny look and feel than the Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets do.

Snowe Sateen Sheets vs Parachute Sateen Sheets

  • Parachute’s sateen sheets are 100 percent long-staple Egyptian cotton sheets. Egyptian cotton is widely regarded to be of superior quality.
  • The Parachute Sateen sheets have a similarly silky, ultra-soft, and smooth feel to the Snowe Sateen sheets, but don’t feel quite as thick.
  • This set features envelope-style closures on the pillowcases, which provide a more streamlined look and prevent the cases from slipping off your pillows at night. I’m a big fan of this feature.
