The Best Bed Sheets of 2025: Tested and Reviewed by Certified Sleep Science Coaches

Testing mattresses and sleep accessories is always a pretty sweet gig, but every now and then, you hit the testing jackpot. I certainly felt like the big winner when I got to test the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets. After using these sheets on my bed at home for several weeks, I proclaimed that they were my favorite sheets of all time. However, these sheets definitely earned their keep, earning a 4.9 out of 5 overall with perfect individual performance scores of 5 out of 5 in feel, durability, fit, and experience. 

I sleep on the 14” tall Nolah Evolution mattress, which I adore. However, the only issue I have is that its height can make it tricky to find sheets that don’t pop off on the sides. Fortunately, the deep-pocketed Cozy Earth sheets wrap my mattress in a secure hug.

Neither my husband Tony nor I have had to wrestle these sheets into submission in the middle of the night. However, unlike other deep-sided sheets, these don’t gap and bunch along the sides. I found the fit to be pretty spot on and have had no issues, even though Tony sleeps like a runaway Tilt-A-Whirl.

Speaking of my betrothed, his body temperature is roughly that of sand during an August heatwave. Therefore, cooling sheets are a top priority for him. He has had no complaints, and he seems less restless when these sheets are on the bed. Although these are not the coolest sheets I have ever tested, they have a distinctive cool-to-the-touch feel that has remained after several washings. 

I like these sheets so much that I try to wash them and put them right back on the bed when possible. If anything, multiple laundry sessions have made them feel softer and more luxurious. I have noticed no piling or loose strands after they have been laundered multiple times. However, I have recently noticed some small discoloration spots. These look oily in nature, and I am guessing they are from the laundry detergent pods. I didn’t deduct any points for this because I am unsure if this is a defect with the material or operator error.  

While these are the best sheets I have ever slept on and I think their quality is top-notch, it is still hard for me to justify a $400 price tag for a queen set. With that being said, if you have that kind of budget, I think you will absolutely get your money’s worth. 

My only complaint about the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets is how they wrinkle. I am a grade-A neat freak, and this drives me insane. However, my husband said he would have never noticed it if I hadn’t pointed it out to him. He also said that even after I showed him, it didn’t affect how they felt, so he didn’t care. Unfortunately, I lack that ability, and the sight of the wrinkles still bothers me.

Wrinkles aside, these are still my favorite sheets and the best sheets we tested (they also made “Oprah’s Favorite Things”). In addition to their outstanding performance scores, Cozy Earth also offers a 100-day sleep trial and a 10-year warranty, both of which are basically unheard of when it comes to sheets. However, the only slight knock to their customer experience is that you must pay for shipping if you return your sheets. 

Seasonal allergies often wreak havoc on my sleeping experience. To help combat my coughing and sneezing, I like to use anti-allergen sheets, like the buttery-soft Luxome Luxury Sheet Set. I selected these as the best hypoallergenic bed sheets because they are made entirely of bamboo viscose, a natural material that is known for its hypoallergenic and antimicrobial qualities, and they performed extremely well in our performance categories. They earned a 4.6 out of 5 overall, achieved on the back of perfect 5-star scores in feel and fit, and a 4.5 in temperature regulation. 

In addition to being made from a hypoallergenic material and being head of the class when it comes to performance, the Luxome sheets up their anti-allergen credentials by also being OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. This certification means that the fabric used in this sheet set is free from harmful substances that can cause allergy flair-ups.

My colleague Matt Shickling tested these out. He said that he had never given much credence to high-end sheets before he was asked to test a few sets out. After taking the Luxomes for a spin he is a luxury sheet convert, saying that these sheets are the new standard for what he will cover his bed in. “I don’t know if I have ever felt softer sheets,” he said. 

He also appreciated that in addition to being hypoallergenic, bamboo viscose is also a naturally cooling fabric. He said that there was a notable difference in his body temperature when he was sleeping on these. “I usually sweat at night, but I didn’t with these,” he said. “This helped me be less restless, which my wife appreciated.” 

Although Matt understands that $185 for a queen set is steep, he also points out that the combination of quality, feel, materials, and the incredible fit make it worth it. His experience caused him to state that he was shocked these weren’t pricier. 

“I didn’t think sheets could make that big of a difference in how I slept, but I was wrong,” Matt said. “They seem well made and durable, the cooling aspect is incredible, and I never knew that sheets could fit a mattress so well.”

The fitted sheets have elastic bands on the corners that loop around the bottom of the mattress. This keeps your bottom sheet from going in a side quest through the night. Matt is a bonafide tosser and turner but said that these sheets stay securely fastened, even if thrashed about. These sheets are also deep-pocketed, meaning if you have a thick mattress or one that is made taller because of a mattress topper, the Luxome Luxury Sheets will wrap it in a tight hug. 

Although Matt doesn’t think that you will be returning them, he did take exception with the many hoops you have to jump through if, during your 30-day trial run, you decide these sheets aren’t for you. Be sure to hone in on the fine print in the return policy if you think you may want to send them back. 

Saatva is a standard bearer when it comes to quality mattresses, so much so that two of my colleagues, Melanie Kassel and Livvi DiCicco, have the Saatva Classic in their respective homes. Although I sleep on the Nolah Evolution, I am also a big fan of Saatva. Therefore, I was pumped when I got to test out what ultimately became our pick for the best sateen bed sheets — Saatva Organic Sateen Sheets.

Although I typically find cotton sateen a little too hefty for my personal preferences, these indulgently smooth and silky-soft sheets were a noted exception to my past experiences. Well, once I had washed them a few times. 

When I first got these sheets (in a package that was nicer than most Christmas gifts), I’ll admit to being underwhelmed. Even after I washed them the first time, they felt stiff and had a fairly pungent chemical smell. Fortunately, the next time I ran them through the washer and dryer, the smell was replaced by that of Tide, and they felt like a different, better set of sheets. I now rank them as some of my favorite sheets because they have a soft yet crisp feel. Despite my initial, pre-wash misgivings, I gave these a 4 out of 5 for feel.

Although I wasn’t a fan of having to wash these several times to achieve the smooth feel that I wanted, I was impressed by how they held up. The elastic remained snappy, and there was no piling or loose strands anywhere in sight.

One of the most common issues I have with sheets is keeping the fitted one secured to the bed. My mattress is 14 inches tall, and one of its two inhabitants sleeps like an angry wolverine (it’s not me). My husband’s tossing and turning often leads to the bottom sheet clinging to life by one corner. However, the tough elastic and deep pockets of the Saatva sheets made this a non-issue and earned them a perfect 5 out of 5 in fit. 

These sheets do a commendable job of temperature regulation, given that sateen isn’t typically known for its cooling prowess. While they don’t feel cool to the touch, they are breathable and should help most sleepers stay temperature neutral.

Given that Sataava is a luxury brand that uses high-end materials, I wasn’t surprised by a price tag that is bumping $300 for both queen and king sets. While I think that these prices are in line with the overall quality, I’m hesitant to give them a complete endorsement since it took several wash cycles to get them to where I fully liked them. Also, while I appreciate the beautiful packaging that included a sturdy, embossed box and reusable bag, I’d gladly trade these in if it knocked a few dollars off the cost.

My husband and I have shared a king-size bed since we moved in together many moons ago. It is one of my favorite aspects of my home, and I look forward to sleeping in it every night. I am always on the lookout for sheets like the Brooklinen Luxe Sateen Core Sheet Set, our pick for the best king-size bed sheets, that accommodate the size of my bed and enhance the overall comfort. When my colleague Kenny Timper, CSSC, tested these sheets, he gave the fit and his experience with them a flawless 5 out of 5.

My mattress is 14 inches tall, and one issue I have had is that some fitted sheets pop off the corners during the night. However, Kenny sleeps on the Titan Plus Elite, which is a half-inch taller than the Nolah Evolution I own, and he said, “These sheets wrap around the whole bed with some room to spare.” So, even if your bed is a little taller than mine or Kenny’s, you should be good to go with this Brooklinen option.

These 480-thread-count sheets were Kenny’s first experience with sateen, and he was an instant fan. He appreciated that they were thick and had some weight to them, but also felt breathable and airy. “I think this sheet set will hold up well over time because they have some heft, but I appreciate how they don’t make me feel hot despite the material being a little thicker,” he said. “They are an upgrade to sheets I’ve used in the past, and I can tell the difference in the quality.”

As Kenny mentioned when he was talking about his experience with the material, he was pleasantly surprised by how cool these sheets kept him. “When I first felt these sheets, I was worried that I was going to wake up a hot, sweaty mess,” he said. “However, when I got them on my bed I was surprised that they had a slightly cool-to-the-touch feel.” I found this evaluation and Kenny’s 4-out-of-5 cooling score particularly impressive for sheets that don’t use any specific cooling technology or materials.

Although Kenny found the $189 price tag for his queen sheets to be on the higher side, he loved that Brooklinen gives you a full year to try these out to make sure you’re satisfied with the quality and performance (you have to purchase your sheets from the Brooklinen website to get this sleep trial). However, if you decide to return them, you will pay a flat return rate fee.

Top sheet sets can set you back several hundred dollars. These high-end price tags usually align with the sheets that perform best in our testing, so at least you can chalk up the dent in your wallet to knowing you’ve bought a high-quality product that will serve you well for years to come. As a 20-something navigating high rent and all the other expenses of adulthood, my colleague Livvi DiCicco loves getting a lot of bang for her buck, and that is what she thought these sheets offered. After she tested them for a few weeks at home, she gave them a 4.5 out of 5 for her overall experience.

She was excited to test these because she had always wanted to try out sheets made from the much-celebrated Egyptian cotton. “I had always considered Egyptian cotton a gold standard, and because of that thought that all sheets made with that material were going to cost an arm and a leg,” she said.  She was pleasantly surprised that this Silk and Snow set came in at the reasonable price of $140 for a queen set, but says that given the frequent sales and coupons, you will likely find them even cheaper.

Although Livvi said that she prefers a softer, almost buttery feel to her sheets, she still appreciated the crisp luxuriousness this set offered. “I slept on these for a month and had a great experience, but ultimately decided that these weren’t my long-term jam,” she said. “I gave them to a friend who loves them.” They are particularly fond of how the Silk & Snow sheets offered a cool reprieve, even when their air conditioner was out for a few nights.

Livvi told me that she was initially concerned about their durability, given how lightweight they are. However, after aggressively tugging and stretching these sheets across her mattress, she left her concerns at the door. This was reinforced by how well they held up after she laundered them. 

If you tend to sweat at night, Livvi cautions that these may not be the best option for you. “For me, cotton sheets tend to trap heat and lock in moisture,” she said. While Livvi thinks that this won’t be an issue for most folks, she cautions that if you’re prone to night sweats like her, you may want to sleep without the flat sheet. She also thought that these sheets were made with too much fabric. Despite having a 14.5-inch-tall Saatva Classic, she had to tuck a lot of fabric under the mattress to keep it tight and secure, causing her to give these sheets a 3.5 out of 5 for fit.

If you’re looking for super-soft sheets to snuggle up with, your search will end with the PlushBeds Bamboo Sheets Set. “The sheets are absolutely soft and silky, one might even describe them as a luxurious fabric,” said our in-house tester after giving them a try in our studio. 

Their bamboo construction also gives them a lightweight, breathable feel, for which our tester awarded them a perfect 5-out-of-5 temperature regulation score. The sheets earned a number of perfect scores for feel, durability, fit, and overall experience.

“For how light and silky these sheets feel, they don’t feel like they would easily rip or wear down,” our tester continued as she tested their strength. She noted that while most sheets with this lightweight feel are often thin enough that you can see the logo of your pillow through fabric, that wasn’t the situation here. “They are opaque and of great quality,” she finished.

This breezy-yet-durable feel gives the sheets an edge for hot sleepers. You should feel comfortably temperature-neutral throughout the night, thanks to bamboo’s natural moisture-wicking properties. Our tester called them “airy yet comforting,” likening it to a nice, cool blanket. 

She tried them out on a mattress measuring 13.5 inches thick, which is a bit taller than the average 12-inch-tall mattress, but still found they weren’t “too snug.” The brand advertises these sheets as fitting beds from 6 to 22 inches, one of the largest ranges we have seen. Smaller beds may have to tuck the excess further under each corner. However, there’s thicker elastic along the corners of the fitted sheet to better secure it to the mattress and reduce the risk of slipping and sliding. 

These sheets retail for about $335 for a queen set, thanks to their 100-percent bamboo rayon construction. “They feel amazing and like they would hold up well, but that price is steep,” our tester noted, and I agree. Still, she was having trouble parting with them: “I am currently thinking how I can convince my husband to spend $300 on these sheets,” she said. “I am actually in love with them and realize that I’ve been sleeping on crappy sheets for years.”

If you’re willing to take the plunge, know that these sheets cannot be returned once opened. They are covered by a 5-year warranty, though, should you encounter any issues down the line. 

Most of us have probably had a miss or two when ordering from Amazon. However, if you are looking for bed sheets that are a hit, try the Cariloha Classic 4-Piece Twill Sheet Set. My colleague Riley Otis, CSSC, tested these at home and said, “These sheets are very high quality, feeling smooth, soft, and cool-to-the-touch. While they’re on the pricier side, I think they’re worth it.” 

After weighing the quality against the price, Riley gave this sheet set a 4 out of 5 for price. This score, along with a perfect 5 in feel, experience, and customer service, helped the Cariloha twill sheets earn an impressive 4.6 overall.

Admittedly, Riley was hesitant to try these sheets, but only because of the limited color options. “They were only available in blue, which doesn’t match the pink aesthetic of my room,” she said. “However, they are so soft and comfortable, like cotton, but without the crispness.” Riley further described them as “cuddly,” adding that she’s been tempted to ball up on the flat sheet and snuggle it like a favorite stuffed animal.

This inviting softness stems from their bamboo viscose makeup. Riley said, “Although they’re thick and cozy, they have a cool-to-the-touch feel that’s super soothing. My partner sleeps hot and loves bamboo sheets like these because they help prevent him from overheating and waking up sweaty.” Although Riley thought that the sheets warmed slightly during the night, she was impressed with how well they regulated her temperature and prevented her from feeling like she was “sleeping in a sauna.” 

As much as Riley enjoyed these sheets overall, she struggled a bit with how they fit her mattress. “These are deep-pocket sheets, fitting mattresses up to 16 inches tall,” she said. “My mattress is only 10 inches tall, and although they fit, there is some loose fabric that I have to tuck in to prevent it from bunching.” However, Riley appreciated how the elastic bands stitched into the corners of the fitted sheet help it stay secure throughout the night. Although she thinks these are best for tall beds, she will continue to use them on her short queen.

If you sleep on a taller bed, you may struggle to find sheets that remain on the mattress throughout the night. However, the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets may solve your problem. The fitted sheet features deep pockets that accommodate mattresses up to 17 inches tall, making it a great choice for those who use a mattress topper. 

My editor, Cait Giddings, CSSC, tried these out under less than ideal conditions. “I put these sheets through the wringer,” she said. “When a storm knocked the power out, killing the AC in our Texas home, my family of four had to decamp to a small RV.” This meant that Cait initially used these on a thin RV mattress. “They were super-baggy on the RV bed, but that is understandable given that it is not much more than a glorified nap mat.” When Cait and her family were able to move back into her home, she appreciated how they fit on her regular bed, giving them a perfect 5 out of 5 in this category.  

She was also pleased with how well they did with keeping her partner and her cool. “Although the RV had air conditioning, we were still sleeping in a metal box during a Texas heatwave,” Cait said.  “These sheets did a commendable job of keeping our temperature regulated during the night.”

Cait noticed that these sheets softened up after she laundered them and thinks that they will continue to do so with each wash cycle. “The sheets feel thick and durable,” she said. “Although they were a little stiffer than I would have liked them to be when I first took them out of the package, they definitely don’t lack sturdiness.” Cait thinks these sheets are made with high-quality materials that will hold up through years of use. 

However, if you decide to return them, Cait found that their customer service was responsive and that Boll & Branch allows returns over $100. Given that a queen set costs $229, it shouldn’t be an issue to return them.

If you have a tall bed and want sheets to envelope it and stay in place throughout the night, try the Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheets. However, be prepared that they may feel a little scratchy at first. Cait says they soften up over time, but if you want buttery smoothness from the start, these are probably not your best option. 

For me, The Sopranos is one of the best TV shows I’ve ever watched, and after testing Peacock Alley’s Soprano Sateen Sheet Set, product expert Matt Shickling thinks these are the best luxury sheets he’s ever tried. These sheets feel super-soft and high-end, maybe even like something you’d find on the bed of a successful “waste management consultant.” Matt gave them a 4.5 in fit and a 5 out of 5 in feel and durability.

Although Matt stated that he had no experience with sheets that were this expensive (a queen set retails for $555), as soon as he opened the packaging, he loved how luxuriously soft the 100-percent cotton and sateen weave made them feel. Matt used these on the bed with his wife and dog and appreciated that they were breathable, which kept their temperature nicely regulated throughout the night.

Even with a full house on the bed, Matt said that the sheets stayed secured, never coming unmoored. “I was a little worried about how well they would stay on the bed because the fitted sheets only have elastic around the corners, but they did a great job in this area,” he said. However, he did point up that there seemed to be some extra fabric that caused some bunching. However, Matt didn’t knock this much because he thought it was most likely from his frequent tossing and turning, and he gave the Sopranos a 4.5 out of 5 for fit.

“The nuance of luxury sheets is probably a little lost on me,” Matt said, “But with that being said, it is still a little hard for me to wrap my head around queen sheets that are close to $600. I would have a hard time recommending these to friends and family because of how expensive they are.” However, he heaped praises on these sheets, saying they were extremely comfortable and of the highest quality. 

If you want to treat yourself, you can try these sheets out for 30 days. However, you cannot wash them if you want to return them, and if you decide to do so, you will pay a flat rate. 

One of the many treats of perimenopause that I’ve experienced is that my body temperature rockets to the temperature of afterburner flames about seven minutes after I fall asleep. When you combine this with the fact that my husband could break a sweat sleeping in a walk-in freezer, you can understand why cooling sheets are our top priority. 

Therefore, when my colleague and certified sleep science coach Cait Giddings told me about her testing experience with the Parachute Home Percale Sheet Set, which included a perfect 5 out of 5 for temperature regulation, I selected them as the best bed sheets for hot sleepers — and then purchased a pair for myself.

Cait tested these during a week-long power outage in her Austin, Texas, neighborhood. She said that these sheets offered a small reprieve at night despite temperatures rising to the triple digits during the day. “The material was crisp, light, and airy, and when I paired them with a battery-operated fan, I could actually cool off enough to get some sleep during that time,” she said.

Before testing these sheets, Cait relied on bamboo sheets to combat the Texas heat. Although she enjoyed the sleek feel of the bamboo, these percale sheets felt great against her skin. She also gave them a shout-out for helping her stay sane during extreme heat and no air conditioning. 

I have long been a percale proponent because they feel crisp and soft at the same time. Cait found that to hold true with the Parachute set. She also said that she found another paradox with these sheets: They seemed incredibly durable, but were also light as air. Therefore, these sheets will keep you cool through many summers.

Cait also loved that these sheets stayed snugly on her bed even when she tossed and turned, but she was most taken with this set’s pillowcases. “The opening is in the back middle, so my pillow never slipped out of the side,” she said. “This design also seems to keep the wrinkles at bay.” After evaluating the sheets and the pillowcases, the Parachute Percale Sheets got another 5-star rating.

I am also a fan of Parachute’s 60-day return policy, which offsets the higher costs of these sheets. With this, you will have two months to decide if they are worth the $269 (for a queen set) before you commit. There’s also a one-year warranty to help sweeten the deal.
