If you’ve been following Sleepopolis for a little while then you’ve probably already read or watched some of my reviews on Tuft & Needle. Tuft & Needle is a company that places a big emphasis on gradual improvement and constantly looking for ways to better their mattress. As a result, the Tuft & Needle that was shipping 6 months ago is significantly different, and significantly improved, over the T&N mattresses that ships today.
This past Summer my wife and I upgraded from our full bed to a king sized Tuft & Needle. Unfortunately, that mattress just didn’t work out for us. It was extremely firm and we ended up returning.
However, a few days ago my brand new Tuft & Needle mattress arrived. This new mattress has all the new design improvements and foam enhancements, making it a totally different (and hopefully better) mattress.
Check out our unboxing of the new Tuft & Needle and read some of my initial thoughts below!
Just as with my first Tuft & Needle, this one still has great cooling and a very buoyant feel. You will not sink much into this mattress. It’s quite a bit softer than my previous Tuft & Needle also.
Very simple, but it gets the job done. Tuft & Needle as a company places more emphasis on function over form, so you won’t find a special design, texture, or extra bells and whistles in on the cover. It’s white, a bit stretchy, and has a nice logo embroidered.
All in all, I’m optimistic. My biggest complaint with the original Tuft & Needle was the firmness, and that seems to have been fixed to a certain degree. Last night felt a little firmer than I would really like it to be, however, we only gave the mattress 3-4 hours post-unboxing before sleeping on it. As with any mattress that comes compressed in a box it can take a few days to full unwind. We’ll be conducting our sleep test this week on the Tuft & Needle and posting our full review towards the end of this next week.
Make sure to stop by and check out our updated review. Also, if you’re interested in the Tuft & Needle consider entering our T&N mattress giveaway. It’s free to enter, just takes a few moments, and you could win 1 of 2 brand new Tuft & Needle’s!
