Brand Snapshot
Dreamfoam bedding is a family-owned mattress brand under the Brooklyn Bedding umbrella. Like Brooklyn Bedding, Dreamfoam bedding offers affordable mattresses manufactured in the USA. If you’re interested in a value buy Dreamfoam is a great company to look into, as you can get most king size Dreamfoam mattresses for under $1,000. Dreamfoam bedding offers several mattress models in addition to the Latex, including the Copper and Cool mattresses. I’ll compare the Dreamfoam Latex to those mattresses, and to the flagship Brooklyn Bedding Signature mattress, a little later in this review. What is the Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Made Of?
The Dreamfoam Latex is an all-foam latex mattress. Like most all-foam mattresses, it’s compressed and shipped in a box, so you won’t have to deal with the hassle of dragging a bulky mattress into your bedroom. Like most latex mattresses, it’s taut, bouncy, and firm-feeling. There are two different Latex models, a 10-inch and a 12-inch model. I tested out the 12-inch model. This model includes a zipper that allows you to open it up and remove the top latex layer. You can swap this latex foam layer out for something softer or firmer, depending on your preference. I’ll break down each layer below to give you an in-depth look at this bed’s construction.

What Does the Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Feel Like?
Next, let’s talk about what it feels like to lie on the Latex. Remember that feel is subjective. A mattress will feel different to every sleeper depending on their body weight and preferred sleeping position. For reference, I’m 5’10”, 190 pounds, and prefer to sleep on my stomach.

Testing the Dreamfoam Latex Mattress
I tested the Dreamfoam Latex in the studio to give you a more objective idea of what this mattress feels like. Below, I’ll discuss the pressure relief, motion transfer, and edge support on the Latex.Pressure Relief
Alleviating tension at the shoulders, hips, and lower back is important for every sleeper. A mattress that puts too much weight on your pressure points can cause soreness and pain. The ideal mattress for most sleepers will balance pressure relieving sinkage with strong support. I used a pressure map to measure the pressure relief on the Latex. I spread a pressure mat out on the mattress and lay down on top of it. The mat recorded how much pressure the Latex created at my hips, shoulders, and back. The result is the pressure map below, which will range from blue in low pressure areas to red in high pressure areas.

Motion Transfer
Next, I tested the Latex’s motion transfer. Motion transfer is the amount of movement on one side of the mattress that’s detectable on the other side. This is an important factor for sleepers who share the bed with a partner or pet to consider. These sleepers need a bed with low motion transfer, or high motion isolation, to avoid being disturbed by a restless partner or furry friend. To test motion transfer, I dropped a steel ball from different heights and measured the disturbance it caused with a seismometer. The results of the test are shown on the diagram below, with the bigger the lines on the diagram showing more disturbance on the bed.
Edge Support
Rounding out my testing process was the edge support test. A bed with strong edge support has sturdy sides that won’t collapse under your weight. This is especially important for couples and heavier sleepers, who need a bed that stays supportive even if they spread out over its entire sleep surface. To test the edge support on the Latex I rolled all the way to the edge of the bed. I was happy with the edge support on the Latex; I could spread out on the entire surface area of the mattress without feeling unstable. The combination of solid edge support and good motion isolation on the Latex makes this bed a great choice for couples.

Dreamfoam Latex Mattress Vs.
Brooklyn Bedding and Dreamfoam bedding both offer mattresses at an affordable price, so is it better to go with the original brand when buying your new mattress? To help you decide, I’ve compared the Dreamfoam Latex to the Brooklyn Bedding Signature. Read on below to see how the Latex stacks up against the flagship Brooklyn Bedding mattress.Brooklyn Bedding Signature
- Unlike the Latex, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature is a hybrid mattress. Its pocketed coil layer encourages a lot of airflow throughout this bed, so hot sleepers might want to check the Brooklyn Signature out. Most hybrid mattresses are naturally cooler than all-foam mattresses.
- Combination sleepers should be happy on the responsive Brooklyn Signature. If you’re looking for a bouncy mattress with a little extra innerspring support, you might be happy on this bed.
- Like the Latex, the Brooklyn Signature is a touch too firm for side sleepers. These folks need a gentler material to feel comfortable on their mattress. They might want to check out our best memory foam mattress roundup, or take a closer look at Dreamfoam’s Copper mattress.

Other Models
Dreamfoam offers a few other models, so I’ve also compared the Latex to the Cool and Copper mattresses. Keep reading to see which Dreamfoam mattress is the best fit for your sleep needs.Dreamfoam Cool
- The Cool is offered in an all-foam or hybrid design. Both models use gel memory foam and special cooling covers to ensure they sleep cool. Hot sleepers will probably like this gel mattress more than the Latex.
- Couples might like the breathability of the Cool mattress. If you’re a member of a couple that tends to overheat in bed, I’d recommend checking it out.
- The Latex is more supportive than the Cool mattress, so if you struggle with back pain you might want to stick with the.
- Check out my full Dreamfoam Cool mattress review to learn more about this mattress.
Dreamfoam Copper
- The Copper mattress feels more like a traditional memory foam mattress. It offers a lot more pressure-relieving sinkage than the Latex, so side sleepers might prefer this bed.
- This mattress is infused with copper and graphite so it sleeps cooler than a traditional memory foam mattress. Hot sleepers looking for a soft feel should be happy on the Copper.
- Combination sleepers should opt for the Latex. The Copper mattress offers deep body-contouring, so they’ll feel too stuck-in this bed.
- Interested in the Copper? Take a look at my full Dreamfoam Copper mattress review to learn more.
Should You Buy the Dreamfoam Latex Mattress?
And that’s it for my Dreamfoam Latex review! Is this mattress right for you? I made a quick pros and cons list to help you decide.Dreamfoam Latex Pros
- This firm latex mattress is great for stomach sleepers. It should offer enough support to keep their hips from sinking into the mattress.
- Back sleepers should also like the Latex. It offers nice springy support that should appeal to these folks.
- The Dreamfoam Latex is a great value buy. In fact, the Latex is one of the most affordable latex mattresses on the market right now. If you’re looking for a cheap mattress that’s softer than the Latex, you can check out our best cheap mattress roundup.
Dreamfoam Latex Cons
- Side sleepers won’t get the cushion they need on the Dreamfoam Latex. These folks need a mattress that offers more pressure relief. If you’re a side sleeper interested in a Dreamfoam mattress, I’d recommend checking out the Copper.
- The Latex mattress slept a little hot. Hot sleepers interested in a Dreamfoam will likely prefer the Cool mattress, which is a really nice cooling mattress for the price.

Can you use a latex mattress if you have a latex allergy?
Most people with latex allergies can still use latex mattresses thanks to the washing process latex undergoes before it’s put into a mattress. If you have a severe latex allergy you should check with your doctor before purchasing a latex mattress.
Do Dreamfoam mattresses need a box spring?
No, you won’t need a box spring with any Dreamfoam beds. A platform bed frame or hard, flat surface will work. But you can use a box spring if you prefer.
Can you flip the Dreamfoam Latex?
No, the Dreamfoam Latex is not a flippable mattress. If you’re worried about wear, you can rotate your Dreamfoam 180 degrees every six months or so.
Where is Dreamfoam Bedding made?
Every Dreamfoam bedding mattress is manufactured in the United States. The company owns its own factory in Phoenix, Arizona. Owning its own factory gives Dreamfoam a lot of control over their materials, cost, and assembly specifications, so this is a nice perk for buyers.
What is Dreamfoam’s return policy?
Dreamfoam mattresses are returnable 30 days into the home trial period. If you decide to return your bed, the company will donate your mattress and refund your card within three to four business days. Shipping fees are non-refundable, and mattresses bought on Amazon are not covered by Dreamfoam policies unless they were bought through Amazon Prime.
