If you’re familiar with memory foam, “breezy” probably isn’t the first quality that comes to mind (for the uninitiated, memory foam traps heat easily).
But the memory foam masters over at Tempur-Pedic have taken it upon themselves to create a memory foam pillow that also sleeps cool with the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling pillow. I personally put this pillow to the test to see just how cooling it is. In this review, I’ll also discuss what it’s made of, how it feels, and who it’s best for.

Is the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling Pillow a Good Pillow for You?
No pillow is one size fits all, so here’s who I think the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze is best for.
Who should try the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling pillow
- This pillow is a great option for most back and side sleepers. Both sleeping styles should get a good mix of support and pressure relief on the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze.
- Hot sleepers should also enjoy the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze, especially those that want a memory foam pillow. The cooling gel pads are quite effective at keeping a cool temperature.
- If you love the slow-sinking feel of memory foam, I think you’ll like how the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze feels. It offers a lot of contouring around your head and neck.
Who should not try the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling pillow
- I wouldn’t recommend the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze to stomach sleepers. I think it’s too lofty and too firm to keep the neck from craning upwards.
- This pillow also isn’t a good choice for anyone who likes a softer feel from their pillow, especially if you’re looking for something moldable or fluffable.
- The TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling pillow is one of the more expensive Tempur-Pedic pillows, so it might not be the best pick for budget shoppers.
What Does the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling Pillow Feel Like?
I tested this pillow out for a few nights to get a good sense of the feel, but keep in mind that feel is subjective, so you may have a different experience than I did.
TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling Pillow Firmness
When it comes to firmness, I rate pillows as either soft, medium, or firm. Each sleeping position generally is best off with a different firmness — firm for side sleepers, medium for back sleepers, and soft for stomach sleepers.
Categorizing the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze was a little difficult, as it feels quite firm initially, but is very adaptive and allows you to sink in quite deeply the longer you lay on it. I think medium-firm is probably the best way to describe it.
TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling Pillow Loft
Loft refers to the height of the pillow and each sleeping position is best suited to a different loft. For side sleepers, I recommend a high loft. For back sleepers, a medium loft is best, and for stomach sleepers, a low loft. The TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze has a higher loft, at 6.4 inches tall.
With that in mind, here’s what I thought about this pillow after testing it in different sleeping positions.
Side — The TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze is a great side sleeper pillow. The firm-ish feel and higher loft should work well for a lot of side sleepers to keep their head and neck in line with the rest of their spine. The only thing I’d note is that taller people or those with broader shoulders might not find the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze quite tall enough, as the foam does compress a good bit beneath you.
Back — I think the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze is also a good pillow for back sleepers. The loft is a bit high, but the foam does compress enough beneath you that you shouldn’t experience your neck craning upwards. I’m about 5 feet 5 inches tall and I found it comfortable, but if you’re on the smaller side, it may be a touch too tall.
Stomach — I didn’t find the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze to be comfortable for stomach sleeping. The loft is too high and the foam is too firm to keep stomach sleepers’ necks from craning upwards.
Under the Arm — I don’t think the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze is the best pillow for sleeping with under the arm. It’s a bit too firm to really be huggable.
Between the Legs — I also don’t think this pillow is the best for putting between your legs while sleeping because it does have that higher loft. It could cause your hips to be out of alignment.

What is the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling Pillow Made Of?
The TEMPUR-Breeze Dual Cooling pillow comes in queen and king sizes. I tested the queen size for this review.
Cover: The TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze has a 100% cotton cover. This cover is removable and machine washable.
Inner Lining: The core of the pillow is encased in polyester mesh fabric.
Core: The core of this pillow is a single piece of TEMPUR material foam, which is Tempur-Pedic’s proprietary memory foam. Each side of the foam core has a TEMPUR-Breeze gel pad, which is gel-infused memory foam. Gel helps to draw heat away from the body and maintain a cool temperature.
Is the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling Pillow Good for Hot Sleepers?
The ultimate question, since this pillow has “cooling” in the name! And I’m happy to report that the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze is quite cooling. I was impressed that the pillow feels cool to the touch and maintains a fairly cool temperature even after lying on the pillow for a while. I really appreciate that Tempur-Pedic put layers of TEMPUR-Breeze gel on both sides of the pillow, so you can always have that cooling sensation — no matter which side you sleep on.

My Final Thoughts About the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling Pillow
There’s a lot to like about the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze. It offers cozy contouring but is still a supportive pillow, it has cooling technology that actually works, and it works well for back sleepers and side sleepers. I also appreciate that the pillow has a washable cover, which is important for anyone with allergies and to keep the pillow clean in general.
Tempur-Pedic has paid attention to detail to make this pillow truly cool, by putting a TEMPUR-Breeze gel layer on each side of the pillow and by using cotton for the cover, which also helps to keep the pillow breathable. It can be challenging to make memory foam truly cooling, but I think they’ve succeeded here.
However, the TEMPUR-Cloud isn’t a great option for stomach sleepers, as it is too firm and lofty to keep stomach sleepers’ head and neck in line. It is also a fairly expensive pillow, so it may not be worth the price for budget shoppers. If you’re a memory foam lover and also a hot sleeper though, I’d say the price could definitely be worth it.
