Emma Hybrid Comfort vs DreamCloud: Which is Better for You?
The Emma Hybrid Comfort is a 13-inch hybrid mattress with a combination of cooling foam layers and ergonomic pocketed springs. It’s firm, supportive, and bouncy. The DreamCloud Mattress, meanwhile, is a luxury hybrid that’s also made with layers of memory foam and pocketed coils. It’s also supportive and offers great pressure relief.
But every sleeper is a little different. For instance, you may prefer more support or more bounce. You may be a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper. So I’ll take size, sleeping position, and personal preference into account to help you decide which mattress suits you better.
Who Should Buy the Emma Hybrid Comfort
- Hot sleepers: Equipped with layers of cooling foam, this hybrid mattress should help hot sleepers feel cooler and rest more comfortably.
- Back sleepers: Whether you’re an average weight or heavyweight back sleeper, this mattress should provide adequate support.
- Stomach sleepers: This mattress will likely provide enough firmness and support to keep stomach sleepers’ hips lifted and promote neutral spinal alignment.

- Hot sleepers: This mattress sleeps cool making it a good option for most hot sleepers.
- Back sleepers: The DreamCloud provides great pressure relief and support, making it a solid choice for back sleepers.

Emma Hybrid Comfort vs DreamCloud: Similarities and Differences
These mattresses are fairly similar in makeup. Both are hybrid mattresses made from a combination of foam and coils. But there are some differences to note. I’ll dive into the nitty gritty of each so you can decide which mattress is more likely to help you dive into a deep sleep.
Main Similarities
- Cooling Capabilities: Both mattresses feature cooling capabilities which should help hot sleepers rest more comfortably. The Emma Comfort Hybrid has a layer of coils to promote airflow, as well as gel infusion in the foam for additional cooling. The DreamCloud also has a gel memory foam layer to regulate body heat.
- Firmness: Both mattresses scored above the industry standard when it comes to firmness, with the Emma Comfort Hybrid scoring slightly higher. I would consider the DreamCloud to be just above medium-firm and the Emma Comfort to feel quite firm.
- Responsiveness: Both mattresses are highly responsive, meaning it should be fairly easy for couples to switch positions during sex or for combo sleepers to move from one sleeping position to the next.
Main Differences
- Price: The DreamCloud is a luxury hybrid and it’s slightly more expensive than the Emma Comfort. But mattress prices often fluctuate and we’re always on the lookout for coupons and discounts that will help you score the best deal.
- Motion Isolation: The Emma Hybrid Comfort scored better than the DreamCloud in motion isolation so if you share the bed with a restless partner, you should feel less motion transfer with the Emma Hybrid Comfort.
- Warranty: The DreamCloud Mattress comes with a lifetime warranty, whereas the Emma Hybrid Comfort comes with a 10-year warranty.
Emma Hybrid Comfort and DreamCloud Mattress Feel Comparison
Of course, the feel of a mattress is incredibly important to factor into your buying decision. Each sleeper has their own preference when it comes to things like firmness, pressure relief, and bounce. I’ll review these in more detail so you can get a feel for which mattress suits your needs best.
Emma Hybrid Comfort
We rated the Emma Hybrid Comfort as a 7.5 out of 10, meaning it is significantly firmer than average.
The Emma Hybrid Comfort is a fairly firm mattress that will have you feeling more “on top” of the bed rather than “in it.” This mattress has very little sinkage, so it should provide adequate support for most stomach and back sleepers, but may not be the best for side sleepers who often prefer some sinkage around their hips and shoulders. This mattress also provides excellent motion isolation so it could be a good fit for couples or pet owners whose furry friends like to jump on the bed.
Couples who like to maximize space and sleep on the edge of the bed should find that the Emma Hybrid Comfort provides adequate edge support, which is how well the perimeter of the bed bears weight. This mattress also provides good pressure relief for back sleepers. However, side sleepers may find that they have pressure building up in certain areas.
The Emma Hybrid Comfort also has a responsive, bouncy feel which could make it a nice choice for combination sleepers who like to switch up their preferred sleeping position. It should also help seniors with mobility issues get in and out of the bed more easily.
DreamCloud Mattress
The DreamCloud Mattress is slightly firmer than industry standard, so just over medium-firm. We rated it as a 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. It provides a nice balance of pressure relief and support. The DreamCloud also provides good motion isolation overall, but you may feel some slight motion transfer if you’re a light sleeper.
In terms of edge support, you should feel well-supported when sleeping on the edge of the mattress — no worries about rolling off. Most back sleepers will find the DreamCloud provides adequate pressure relief. Side sleepers, on the other hand, may feel some slight pressure buildup, particularly in the hip area. The DreamCloud also has a bouncy, responsive feel making it a suitable option for combo sleepers.
Comparing What it’s Like to Sleep on the Emma Hybrid Comfort and the DreamCloud
While a certain mattress may score high on our overall performance test, it will feel different for each sleeper based on their size and preferred sleeping position. So here’s a closer look at how each mattress will likely feel to you based on your individual characteristics and sleeping preferences.
Emma Hybrid Comfort
Back — With its comfort and support, the Emma Hybrid Comfort should work well for back sleepers who prefer mattresses with a firmer feel.
Side — Since side sleepers tend to need a softer mattress that provides some sinkage in the hip and shoulder area, the Emma Hybrid Comfort may not be a suitable choice for them.
Stomach — The Emma Hybrid Comfort is a firmer mattress that keeps you lifted out of the structure, so it should work well for stomach sleepers who need their hips propped up for proper spinal alignment.
Body Weight — While light stomach sleepers may like the extra-firm feel of the Emma Hybrid Comfort, light side sleepers may find it too firm. It may even cause some discomfort in the hip and shoulder area. Light back sleepers may like this mattress if they prefer a firmer feel.
Average sleepers should find this mattress suitable if they sleep on their back or stomach. However, average side sleepers may find it too firm.
Heavy sleepers should sleep well on this mattress if they are back or stomach sleepers. But heavy side sleepers may find it too firm to offer enough pressure relief.
DreamCloud Mattress
Back — Back sleepers should really enjoy the DreamCloud mattress because of its supportive and pressure relieving feel.
Side — Side sleepers typically need contouring around their shoulders and hips to avoid pressure buildup. The DreamCloud could work well for combo sleepers, but strict side sleepers or side sleepers with sensitive joints may find another mattress more suitable for them.
Stomach — Stomach sleepers need a firm mattress to keep their hips propped up and their spine aligned. Since the DreamCloud is a tad firmer than average, it could work for lighter weight stomach sleepers and combination stomach sleepers. But other stomach sleepers may prefer a firmer mattress.
Body Weight — The DreamCloud should be suitable for most lightweight sleepers. However, strict side sleepers may prefer a bed with a softer feel.
When it comes to average weight sleepers, strict side sleepers may find the mattress too firm, while strict stomach sleepers may find it too soft.
Heavy back sleepers should get adequate support from the DreamCloud. But heavy side sleepers may sink too far into the bed’s coil layer and heavy stomach sleepers may find the feel to be too soft and that their hips sink into the top foams.
Comparing Emma Hybrid Comfort and DreamCloud Prices
Of course, price point probably makes a difference when you’re buying a mattress. A queen size Emma Hybrid Comfort comes in at $1,199 while a DreamCloud Mattress retails at $1,332 for a queen size.

Comparing Emma Hybrid Comfort and DreamCloud Mattress Materials
How a mattress stacks up to the competition often depends on the materials from which it’s made. So I’m going to take a closer look at the composition of each mattress and how it’s constructed.
Emma Hybrid Comfort
Cover: The Emma Hybrid Comfort has a cover made with a lightweight, moisture-wicking fabric that’s soft to the touch.
Comfort Layer: The comfort layer is made from cooling foam and patented foam layers. The coaling foam helps absorb body heat. This layer also provides good motion isolation and even distribution of pressure.
Transition Layer: This layer is made from durable HRX foam. The high-density foam prevents you from sinking too deep into the bed and feeling the coil layer beneath. It also serves as a transition between the upper foam layer and coils.
Support Layer: The support layer features an ergonomic system of coils that help you feel supported and promote good airflow for better heat dissipation.
Want to learn more about the Emma Hybrid Comfort? Check out the full review here.
DreamCloud Mattress
Cover: The DreamCloud is a luxury hybrid. Its cover is made from a special cashmere blend that feels soft and cozy. It’s also quilted with foam for added plushness.
Comfort Layer: The comfort layer is made from gel memory foam. The cooling gel helps with body temperature regulation so you don’t overheat while you sleep. This material also has a slow response to pressure, allowing you to sink in for pressure relief in the shoulder and hip area.
Transition Layer: The transition layer is made from poly foam, which has a quicker response to pressure than the comfort layer. It eases the transition from the comfort layer made of memory foam to the firmer support layer made from coils.
Support Layer: The main support system of the DreamCloud is an 8.5-inch section of individually wrapped coils. These coils provide responsive support, while also allowing for airflow within the mattress.
Base: The base is made from poly foam, which provides the coils something to bounce off.
