Let’s kick things off with some quick recommendations on which sleepers I think should choose which bed, and I’ll dive into more details throughout the review.Who Should Buy Saatva Classic

- Anyone who wants to be able to choose from three different firmness levels should like the Saatva Classic. It comes in Plush, Luxury Firm, and Firm — so most sleepers should be able to find the right firmness for them.

Saatva Classic vs Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid: Similarities and Differences
Though these online mattresses have similarities, they also have some key differences, which I’ll detail below. I’d also recommend checking out our full Saatva mattress review and Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid mattress review for more nitty-gritty details.Main Similarities
- They both ship for free with white glove delivery and are not bed-in-a-box mattresses. This means the beds are never compressed in a box, so there are no off-gassing or unboxing smells. Moving specialists will come set them up for you for free in your room of choice and take away your old mattress if needed.
- They both come with an impressive 365-night sleep trial period and a lifetime warranty.
- Both beds have great edge support, so you can sprawl out and use the full surface of the mattress without feeling like the sides are sinking down.
- They’re really responsive thanks to their coils, which makes them great picks for combination sleepers or anyone with mobility issues. However, if you’re looking for more of a traditional memory foam mattress feel instead, check out our best memory foam mattress page.

Main Differences
- The Saatva Classic mattress comes in three different firmness levels: Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm — so you can choose the best option for you and your sleeping position. The Memory Foam Hybrid comes in one firmness option that has a medium-firm feel.
- The Saatva Classic comes in two different height options, 11.5 inches and 14.5 inches, while the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid comes in only an 11.5 inch height.
- The Saatva Classic has a Euro Pillow Top and utilizes a coil-on-coil construction and leans toward being an innerspring mattress, while the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid uses a foam-on-coils system and is a true hybrid mattress.
- The Saatva Classic is a little bit more expensive than the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid.

Saatva Classic and Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Feel Comparison
Now that we’ve covered some basics, let’s really dig into how these beds feel. Remember, feel is subjective and will vary depending on your body type, sleeping position preference, and weight.Saatva Classic
Again, the Saatva Classic has three firmness options (Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, and Firm) that offer a soft feel, a medium-firm feel, and a firm feel. The Saatva Classic Luxury Firm model is the most similar to the feel of the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid. I gave it a 7 out of 10 on the mattress firmness scale. For reference, a medium-firm mattress falls at a 6.5 out of 10 on the scale.
Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid has a true medium-firm feel, falling at a 6.5 out of 10 on the mattress firmness scale. Similar to the Classic, its quilted cover keeps sleepers lifted up while still offering some nice cushioning. I think it’s a touch softer feeling than the Luxury Firm model of the Saatva Classic.
Comparing What it’s Like to Sleep on the Saatva Classic and the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid
Depending on your body weight and preferred sleeping position, one of these luxury mattresses may suit you better than the other. Below, I’ll share how this mattress feels in different positions and for sleepers of different sizes.Saatva Classic
Back — This is a great option for back sleepers, especially the Luxury Firm model. They should feel supported and like their spine is aligned. Side — I think the Luxury Firm model will be a little too firm for strict side sleepers, but I think the Plush Soft version of the Saatva could be a nice fit for these sleepers. It should offer them deeper pressure relief and sinkage around their pressure points. Stomach — A lot of stomach sleepers could do well on the Luxury Firm model, but I’d also recommend the Firm model for even more lift and support. It’s important these sleepers have their hips in line with their shoulders for healthy sleep posture (it often takes a firmer mattress to make that happen). Body Weight — Lighter sleepers, weighing under 130 pounds, are going to feel the Saatva to be firmer than advertised and heavy sleepers, weighing more than 250 pounds, will feel this bed to be softer than advertised. I think heavier sleepers will still be comfortable and supported on this mattress. Saatva also offers the Saatva HD, which was specifically designed for heavy people.
Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid
Back — This is a great pick for back sleepers. The layers of foam should offer nice back support and help keep their hips and shoulders level. Side — Some side sleepers should do well on this bed, but I’d recommend strict side sleepers and those with sensitive joins check out our picks for the best mattresses for side sleepers. Stomach — Lightweight stomach sleepers (weighing less than 130 pounds) should like this bed and get the proper support. Other strict stomach sleepers may want to check out our best mattresses for stomach sleepers roundup for more options. Body Weight — Lighter weight sleepers will feel this bed to be a bit firmer than average weight sleepers, while heavy sleepers might feel it as softer. I think this mattress could work well for heavier sleepers, but would again recommend they check out the Saatva HD since it was created with them in mind.

Comparing Saatva Classic and Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress Materials
Let’s dig deeper into what sets these beds apart from one another by taking a look at their unique constructions.Saatva Classic
Cover — The Saatva’s organic cotton cover is breathable and antimicrobial. It’s also soft to the touch. Comfort Layer — This top layer is a Euro pillow top. It offers a bit of cushioning and pressure relief. Support Layer — Individually wrapped pocketed coils offer some nice bounce, airflow, and support. Zoned Support Layer — A layer of memory foam in the center of the Saatva offers some pressure relief and works with the above support layer to provide additional relief and support at the lower back. This zoned support system is a nice feature for anyone suffering from lower back pain. Base Layer – The Saatva’s foundation is made from steel coils and edge support foam. The second coil layer provides even more powerful lift, while the high-density foam surrounding the mattress makes the Saatva feel a bit bigger.
Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid
Cover — The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid has a breathable, hypoallergenic, and organic cotton cover. It’s zoned for support and can help keep you cool while also promoting healthy sleep by preventing the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew. Top Layer — Next up is gel-infused memory foam in the middle of the mattress for extra support and durability. Sleepers should sink into this layer but not feel stuck. The gel infusions will also help pull heat away from the body. Comfort Layer — Next up is AirCradle memory foam, which helps circulate air through the bed and prevent sleepers from overheating. Base Layer — The Memory Foam Hybrid’s final layers are pocketed coils on top of an inch of support foam. They’re individually wrapped recycled steel coils that offer durability. The bed also has a perimeter of high-density foam to help maintain strong edge support.
