Popular bed-in-a-box startup Leesa announced today that by the end of summer, it will have donated 30,000 mattresses to nonprofit organizations across the United States.
Leesa made the statement in tandem with the news that it had recently sold its 300,000th mattress, a huge milestone for the online company. But this achievement doesn’t just mark success for the brand on a financial level, it also signifies a big moment for its charitable One-Ten Program. Since the initiative sees one out of every ten mattresses sold donated to nonprofits, this means Leesa is well on its way to giving away 30,000 beds to those in need.

Last week, the Leesa team was humbled to visited @voacolorado in Denver, CO, a national organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. Thank you to our board member, Tyler Tysdal for connecting us with the Colorado VOA and helping us launch our partnership with them through a donation of over 200 mattresses to be placed throughout their Denver programs.
“Leesa’s business success over the last year is a source of great pride, of course, but nothing compares to the pride we feel about the lives we have been able to help through our One-Ten Program,” explained David Wolfe, co-founder and CEO of Leesa. “We are excited to further disrupt the industry with our products, partnerships and high bar for excellence in all areas of our business.”
According to Wolfe, Leesa plans to reach this 30K goal by the end of September, donating mattresses to organizations that serve people who seek refuge from homelessness, domestic risk and human trafficking. Since its founding in 2015, the mattress brand has kept a tight focus on these sorts of philanthropic efforts, with One-Ten as well as One-Earth (wherein a tree is planted for every mattress sold) and One-Community (wherein the brand invests in local communities).

At Leesa, success is about more than just our bottom line – it’s about our commitment to leave the world a bit better than we found it. Together with our partners at the @arbordayfoundation, Leesa’s One-Earth program has committed to planting 1,000,000 trees by 2025. #ArborDay
This has been quite an exciting year for Leesa Sleep. In the past few months, the brand has secured $23 million in Series B funding, established new relationships with West Elm and Pottery Barn, debuted a collaboration with Third Sheets and beefed up its executive board with former Seventh Generation CEO John Replogle and former President and COO of Rent the Runway Beth Kaplan.
