Read Full ReviewWhat are the Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets Made Of?
There are many different ways to make sheets, with a variety of materials from cotton to linen to bamboo. Each material has its own pros and cons.
The Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets are made from 100 percent long-staple cotton in a sateen weave. Long-staple cotton is preferable over short-staple, as the longer fibers ensure greater durability over time and they are less likely to pill. They have a 480-thread count, which is a good thread count range for a sateen sheet.
Sateen weaves generally use a three over one under weave, as opposed to one over one under (which is a percale weave.) The actual number can vary in how many threads are woven over, but using multiple threads creates a thicker, slicker feel in the fabric.

These sheets are also OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified, meaning they surpass the highest criteria of testing for harmful chemicals and substances.
Each Luxe Core set comes with one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and two pillowcases. The fitted sheet features tags on the long and short sides of the sheet to simplify the process of making your bed. Brooklinen does offer other Luxe bedding bundles aside from the Luxe Core, including:
- The Starter Set (one fitted sheet and two pillowcases)
- The Split King Set (two fitted sheets, one flat sheet, and two pillowcases)
- The Hardcore Set (one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, four pillowcases, and one duvet cover)
- The Move-In Set (one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, four pillowcases, one duvet cover, two pillows, and one comforter)
The Luxe Core sheet set is available in six different sizes: twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king. I tested the queen size set for this review.
What Do the Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets Feel Like?
When I started testing the Luxe Sateen sheets, immediately I felt they were super smooth, buttery, and satiny. I thought they felt fairly thick and heavy, as is common for sateen sheets, but still maintained a decently airy feel. These sheets have a super luxurious vibe that makes them feel like high-quality hotel sheets. The sateen weave also gives these sheets a bit of a shinier finish, as opposed to the matte finish common to a percale weave sheet.
Are the Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets Good for Hot Sleepers?
I thought the Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets were decent for hot sleepers. Cotton is a good choice in general for breathability, but sateen weaves tend not to be the best choice for hot sleepers, as it is a thicker, higher thread count style of sheet. That means it isn’t as breathable as percale or linen sheets, which tend to have lower thread counts.
Still, I thought the Brooklinen Luxe sheets were fairly lightweight for a sateen sheet and I didn’t feel myself overheating while lying under the top sheet.

Read Full ReviewHow Durable are Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets?
The Brooklinen Luxe Core sheet set feels like a durable, quality sheet set to me. The sheets feel well-made and high-quality, and the use of long-staple cotton fibers will prevent pilling and ensure smoothness over time.
To make these sheets last as long as possible, be sure to follow the proper care instructions outlined by Brooklinen.
Do the Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets Stay on the Bed?
I did not have any issue with these Brooklinen sheets staying on the bed. The fitted sheet’s pockets are 15 inches deep, which is a fairly standard pocket size that should accommodate most mattresses. However, if you have a particularly tall mattress, I would consider a sheet set with extra deep pockets.
Are Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets Good for You?
Now that we’ve covered what these sheets are made of and how they feel, let’s go over my recommendations for who should try them, as well as some complaints.
Who should try Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets
- If you like a smooth, buttery, satiny feel from your sheets, you’ll likely love the classically sateen feel of the Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets.
- If you want a luxurious-looking sheet, the lustrous finish of these sateen sheets is a great fit for you.
- If you’re a hot sleeper who wants a sateen sheet, these are a more lightweight sateen option that won’t cause you to overheat.
Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets complaints
- If you’re a very hot sleeper looking for the most breathable and cooling sheet option, these might not be the best option.
- If you prefer a crisper feel, you might not like the smooth, ultrasoft, and satiny feel of the Luxe Core sheets. Take a look at the Brooklinen Classic Core sheet set instead for a cotton percale option.
- If you have a very tall mattress or have a tall mattress topper, the Brooklinen Luxe fitted sheet might not be large enough for your mattress.

Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets Vs
Now let’s compare the Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets to two other Brooklinen sheets sets, as well as to a competitor.
Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheets vs Brooklinen Classic Core Sheets
- The Brooklinen Classic Core sheets are also made from 100 percent long-staple cotton, but in a percale weave instead of sateen. Percale weaves use one over one under weaving, instead of multiple over one under like sateen does. This results in a lighter, crisper feel.
- The Classic percale sheets have a very crisp, lightweight, and airy feel. This makes them a great option for hot sleepers.
- Additionally, the Classic Core sheets come at a lower price point than the Luxe.

Read Full ReviewBrooklinen Luxe Core Sheets vs Brooklinen Linen Core Sheets
- The Brooklinen Line Core sheets are made from 100 percent linen made from European flax and are made in Portugal.
- The linen has a much looser weave and lower thread count than either the sateen or percale sheets, allowing for much more airflow. Linen is also a much hollower fiber than cotton, further making these sheets breathable.
- The Linen Core sheets have a much more textured and coarse feel than either of the cotton options from Brooklinen.
