What is the Casper Weighted Blanket Made Of?
Now there’s a lot of materials that can be used to make a weighted blanket and different materials will have different feels. So let’s talk about what the Casper weighted blanket is made of.
How Much Does the Casper Weighted Blanket Weigh?
The Casper weighted blanket is available in three different weight options: 10, 15, and 20 pound. All three weights come in the same size, which is 50 inches x 70 inches. I tested the 15-pound blanket for this review.
What Does the Casper Weighted Blanket Feel Like?
I personally tested the Casper weighted blanket out at home, so here are my takeaways on what it feels like. I thought the outer cover of the Casper weighted blanket had a really nice, smooth feel. While I am usually a fan of all things fluffy and fuzzy, I really liked the smooth feel and thought it would be a nice alternative for those who don’t love fuzzy blankets, but still want something soft and cozy.
Is the Casper Weighted Blanket Good for Hot Sleepers?
While I was testing the Casper weighted blanket, I noticed that it has a very slight cool-to-the-touch feel. I think the cotton used in the outer shell works well to add some breathability to the blanket. And the fact that it’s a little on the thinner side helps to not trap so much heat. But, most of the interior is polyester, so I wouldn’t say this is a superb cooling blanket. I felt pretty temperature neutral lying under it.
How Durable is the Casper Weighted Blanket?
When you buy a new sleep product or accessory, you want to be sure it’s going to be something that will last. While testing the Casper weighted blanket, I thought the materials seemed pretty high-quality. However, one thing that I think detracts from the durability of this blanket is that it’s not machine washable. The outer cover cannot be removed and washed separately, as it can with many other weighted blankets. You can only spot clean this blanket.Casper Weighted Blanket

Is the Casper Weighted Blanket Good for You?
So with all that in mind, is the Casper weighted blanket the right weighted blanket for you? Let’s go over my recommendations.Who Should Try the Casper Weighted Blanket

- If you want a weighted blanket that doesn’t have an obvious weighted blanket look or feel, the Casper is a great choice. It’s a thinner blanket and you can barely tell there is any weighted fill when you feel the blanket, since the glass beads are so small and mixed in with the polyester batting fill. No worries about noise from beads rattling causing you to wake up! However, once you’re under the blanket, you can definitely feel the weight!
- If you like a smoother feel to your blanket, I think you’ll appreciate the cotton cover used on the Casper weighted blanket. It’ll also help to keep the blanket a little cooler, since cotton is very breathable.
- If you’re in the weight range of about 100 to 200 pounds, then the Casper weighted blanket is a great choice for you, as the weight options offered will work to allow you to experience Deep Pressure Touch.
- And if you want a blanket with good color options, I’d also recommend the Casper! I’ll go over all the color choices in the next section.
Casper Weighted Blanket Complaints

- If you’re someone prone to making messes, I’d recommend another blanket since the Casper is spot clean only. There are other options on the market that are machine washable or at least have a washable duvet cover.
- If you’re a heavier person who weighs significantly more than 200 pounds, the Casper isn’t the best option for you, as there is no weight option that’ll provide the sensation of Deep Pressure Touch.
- And the Casper only comes in one single-person size, so if you want a larger blanket to share, I’d recommend choosing another blanket.

Casper Weighted Blanket Vs
Now we’ve reviewed a lot of blankets here at Sleepopolis — some of the best weighted blankets out there! So let’s put the Casper weighted blanket head to head with a few other weighted blankets.Casper Weighted Blanket vs Bearaby Cotton Napper Weighted Blanket

- Both of these blankets use cotton in their construction. The Casper weighted blanket has a breathable cotton cover and the Bearaby Cotton Napper is made almost entirely from cotton, but that’s about where the similarities end.
- The Bearaby doesn’t use glass beads or plastic pellets to add weight to the blanket. The weight of the fabric alone makes this a heavy blanket!
- Organic cotton blend fabric is woven to create a wide-weave knit that’s super breathable and allows for lots of airflow, so hot sleepers will also enjoy the Bearaby.

Casper Weighted Blanket vs Gravity Weighted Blanket

- The Gravity blanket is a very popular weighted blanket. Like the Casper, it uses glass beads for its weighted fill. However, the Gravity’s outer cover has more of a fuzzy, minky feel than the Casper’s.
- The Gravity also comes in more size options than the Casper, including a queen size blanket to share.
- Additionally, the Gravity has a removable cover that is machine washable, which is one pro for the Gravity over the Casper, especially for those who like to keep things super clean.
