“The quality feels luxury-like as the stitching is strong and the material feels high-end,” Matt said.

Fortunately, if you are a hot sleeper who tends to sweat through your sheets and blankets at night, you shouldn’t have to worry about washing more loads of laundry with these. Matt put these sheets through the wringer over the summer and found that they did an excellent job of regulating temperature. He gave them another 4.5-star score in our cooling category.

“I’d say these contribute to an active difference in body temperature,” Matt said. “I’m a sweater, and I haven’t had that experience in these sheets after several weeks with them. Even on hot nights before we started running the air conditioning, these felt comfortable and cooling. I would recommend them to someone looking for a cooling set of sheets.”

The only two areas of criticism Matt had about the Luxome sheets were their steep price tag and an unclear return policy. At $190 for a queen-sized set before any discounts, it might be a hard pill to swallow, depending on your budget. Additionally, the Luxome site says it will accept items that are “clean, not damaged, and in like-new condition.” So, while you theoretically have 30 days to return something, it’s not really clear what they may accept.

During testing, our in-house product expert praised the Saatva Luxury Flannel Sheet Set’s durable construction, awarding it a perfect 5 out of 5 for materials and feel. She used them as her primary sheet set for two months and thoroughly tested them during that time. 

After numerous washes and regular use, she said they didn’t lose an iota of their buttery-soft feel. For that reason, she also gave them a perfect 5-star durability score.

“I’ve used and washed them for almost two months now without any problem. Overall, these are quality flannel sheets that reflect their premium price tag,” she said.

Our tester was also impressed by the Saatva Luxury Flannel Sheet Set’s temperature-regulating abilities, awarding it a 4 out of 5 in the cooling category. While flannel isn’t necessarily synonymous with cooling, Saatva did a great job at making these sheets feel as airy and breathable as possible. 

“These flannel sheets are made from cotton, so they aren’t going to be cooling, obviously,” our tester said. “However, they are advertised as breathable, and I can verify that they are. I tend to sleep hot, so I was hesitant to use these, but I have not had any issues with night sweats.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the only drawback of this luxurious offering from Saatva is the price. At $345 for a queen-sized set, they are not the best pick for budget-conscious shoppers. However, for those who are willing to splurge, these sheets should comfort you for many years to come.

As a native North Carolinian and notoriously hot sleeper who received these sheets in the dead of summer, I was somewhat reluctant to use them immediately. However, these sheets exceeded expectations across the board. After having a chance to test them during the summer and winter, I can say that the Brooklinen Brushed Flannel Hardcore Sheet Bundle is a top contender for anyone looking for a soft flannel set. I gave it a 4 out of 5 or higher for its feel, durability, and fit.

After regularly using these bed sheets for months, I can vouch for their comfort and sturdiness. In my experience, cheaper cotton flannel sheets pill and wear out, but fortunately, that is not the case with this set. Speaking of elasticity, Sosha was also impressed by how well they fit and wrapped around her 14-inch mattress. While testing these sheets, she did not notice them fall off the bed or cluster beneath her while sleeping on them at night.

Despite these sheets being near-perfect, Sosha highlighted some minor grievances. One thing that bothered her about the Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set is that the sheets come out of the wash more wrinkly than she would like. However, this minor detail will likely go unnoticed by most sleepers.

Sosha also thought these sheets were on the pricier side. Although she said that they were “worth every penny,” they will still cost you $308 for a queen-sized set. On the bright side, these sheets come with a 100-night sleep trial to try them out, as well as a 10-year warranty, which is quite generous for a sheet set.

If you are looking for a high-quality sheet set that resides at the intersection of cozy and cool, then the Buffy Breeze Sheet Set is just what you need. This sheet set, available from Amazon and the Buffy website, is made of Tencel and offers a silky, lightweight feel that is ideal for hot sleepers. Product tester Dan Caffrey was pleased with these sheets in nearly every category during his testing, awarding them a rating of 5 out of 5 in both cooling and feel.

“I’ve often heard the term buttery to describe sheets, and I never really knew exactly what that meant until now,” Dan said. “The Buffy Breeze sheets feel silky-soft and cool to the touch as soon as you lie down on them. They made my sleeping experience more luxurious in a tangible way.”

That said, Dan warned that the price and the limited customer service options may alienate some shoppers. At $250 before any discounts, this sheet set is on the expensive side. Dan also noted that the only way to reach customer support was via email, which could be a disadvantage for those who are less tech-savvy or require immediate assistance.
