Nectar touts the Luxe as its tallest, coolest, and most supportive mattress. The brand claims the Nectar Luxe is twice as cooling as its Classic model and includes added materials to combat memory foam’s natural tendency to trap heat. But is this all-foam mattress right for you? To help you find out, our mattress testers assessed its firmness, pressure relief, motion transfer, and edge support.
The Sleepopolis team has been testing mattresses for over 10 years and has undergone extensive training to ensure we provide accurate recommendations. My fellow certified sleep science coaches and I have tested more than 330 beds in our studio using our rigorous methodology so we can help shoppers like you find the best mattresses to address their sleep needs.
We also call on our network of medical professionals to make sure all our recommendations line up with the latest studies in sleep science. Our chief medical advisor, Dr. Raj Dasgupta, MD, FACP, FCCP, FAASM, was instrumental in ensuring accuracy and non-bias during our testing process.
In the case of the Nectar Luxe, we found that its above-average cooling properties made it a good option for hot sleepers who prefer the slow-sinking feeling of an all-foam bed. Our testers also enjoyed the nice balance of support and pressure relief it provided for back and side sleepers. However, they thought it sank too much to support sleepers over 230 pounds.
The Nectar Luxe is an ultra-plush yet supportive bed with a soft feel. It also provides a cool sleep experience, thanks to its cooling cover. We think it’s an especially good fit for back sleepers and side sleepers. Learn more in our video review.
What our tester says:
“The Nectar Luxe is an impressive 14-inch-tall mattress with layers of pressure-relieving memory foam and a cool-to-the-touch cover designed to prevent overheating. I think side sleepers will enjoy the slow-moving, body-contouring feel, and back sleepers who prefer a softer mattress might like this bed’s plushness.” – Kenny Timper, staff writer and certified sleep science coach
Nectar Luxe Mattress Overview
The Nectar Luxe is a memory foam mattress that aims to deliver a punched-up version of everything its Classic line is known for. Like many other Nectar beds, the Luxe performed well in cooling and responsiveness, earning a 4 out of 5 in both categories from our mattress testers.
However, Nectar Luxe was about average in edge support and motion isolation. Our mattress testers found it somewhat challenging to get in and out of the bed on either side because of the sinkage around the perimeter. They were also surprised at how much motion transferred from one side of the bed to the other, which is unusual for an all-foam model.
Based on their experience, I don’t recommend the Nectar Luxe to folks with mobility concerns who need sturdy edges and corners to help them stand up in the morning or sleepers who are particularly sensitive to their partner or pet’s movements.

Nectar Luxe Mattress Sleepopolis Score
Nectar Luxe Mattress Value
When determining if a mattress is worth its price, we assess the quality of the materials and its performance. When it’s not on sale, a queen-sized Nectar Luxe is a bit steep at $3,265 before discounts. However, it frequently goes on sale for around $1,500, which we believe is fair because the Nectar Luxe is a fiberglass-free mattress with CertiPUR-US certifications and impressive cooling abilities. It also comes with a 365-night trial, so shoppers get plenty of time to decide if the Nectar is right for them.
What Is the Nectar Luxe Made Of?
The Nectar Luxe is an impressive 14-inch-tall mattress with layers of pressure-relieving memory foam and a cool-to-the-touch cover designed to prevent overheating. Since you can’t see the inside of the Luxe yourself, my fellow testers and I cut open the cover to give you a closer look at its layers.

Cover – The top layer of the Nectar Luxe features a breathable cooling cover with antimicrobial treatment and enhanced moisture-wicking fabric to keep you cool and clean overnight. During testing, we could feel its cooling properties immediately after jumping into bed.
Comfort Layer – Next is a comfort layer made of 3 inches of therapeutic memory foam. This slow-moving surface provides pressure relief and support around your back and joints. When trying out the Nectar Luxe, our testers felt decent contouring around their shoulders, hips, and lower backs. Because of memory foam’s slow-sinking properties, all-foam mattresses often lack the same support as hybrid and innerspring models. Fortunately, the Nectar Luxe provided excellent support around our testers’ lower lumbar spines in addition to gentle cradling.
Transition Layer – Beneath this is a dynamic response layer that helps ease sleepers down onto the base layer below. This layer has 3 inches of Nectar’s high-quality support foam to promote proper spinal alignment and offer additional back support.
Support Layer – Finally, an 8-inch layer of dense foundational foam rounds out this mattress. Many bed-in-a-box mattresses use a similar layer of dense foam to add support and durability to the rest of the bed.

Nectar Luxe Mattress Firmness
Now that you know more about the Luxe’s construction, let’s talk about how it feels. Remember that feel is subjective, meaning a mattress will feel different depending on your body weight and preferred sleeping position. For this reason, we invite numerous mattress testers from different weight categories to weigh in with their opinions, and then we average their scores.

After testing this mattress, our panel of mattress testers gave the Nectar Luxe a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. For reference, the industry standard for medium firm is 6.5 out of 10, meaning the Nectar Luxe feels a bit softer than most mattresses.
For sleepers who weigh 230 pounds or less, the longer you spend on the Nectar, the more you’ll sink into its therapeutic memory foam, but never so much that you lose a sense of support. However, sleepers with bigger bodies may sink too deeply into the mattress, throwing off their spinal alignment and causing pressure to build up, especially around the hips and shoulders.
Nectar Luxe Mattress Performance
Since comfort is largely subjective, we use a thorough, standardized testing methodology on our mattresses to provide a more objective evaluation. We assessed key performance factors on the Nectar Luxe, such as motion transfer, cooling, and pressure relief. These tests help us identify who the mattress is best suited for, and who might want to consider other options. Read on to see how the Nectar Luxe performed on our tests.
Nectar Luxe Pressure Relief Performance
A mattress that keeps aches and pains at bay is one that relieves pressure on sensitive areas by evenly distributing your weight. An effective pressure-relieving mattress cushions sensitive joints rather than concentrating your body weight on them.
“The right mattress should help alleviate pressure point discomfort,” explains Dr. Dasgupta. “If your mattress isn’t delivering robust support, has low-quality materials, or isn’t the right firmness level, it can lead to poor spinal alignment, pain, and restlessness.”
To assess the Nectar Luxe’s pressure relief and give you a better understanding of how the bed might work for you, we invited a lightweight tester, an average-weight tester, and a heavyweight tester into our studio. We then rolled out a specialized mat onto the mattress’s surface, which our testers lie on on their sides and backs. This mat uses thermal imaging to detect where pressure is building along the body and translates those results into a color-coded graphic. Blue and green indicate low-pressure areas, while yellow and red highlight elevated pressure zones.
Sosha Lewis, our average-weight tester, found the Nectar Luxe to be moderately comfortable for back sleeping. Her average pressure reading in pounds per square inch (PSI) was 12.21 on her back, slightly below the overall back-sleeping average of 12.4.

“I like this bed a lot for back sleeping,” Sosha said. “My lower back feels filled in, and my hips feel balanced and elevated. I’m getting good contouring around my shoulders and upper back. If you like memory foam, this could be an excellent pick.”
On her side, Sosha noted some sinkage around her hips. While she thought the pressure relief was solid overall, she wanted more support for her back and midsection. Her PSI reading was 13.11, which lands in the low-pressure range for this sleeping position. For reference, the average PSI for side sleeping is 14.94.
Similarly, Asha Birjah, our lightweight tester, felt most comfortable in the back-sleeping position. Her PSI came in at 11.28, lower than the average for back sleepers. However, Asha was uncomfortable on her side, and she reported feeling slightly uncomfortable and misaligned. Her side-sleeping PSI was 12.25, also lower than the lightweight side sleepers. Despite these results, she was still not impressed with how she felt on her side on this mattress.
“I’m sinking, but not in a good way,” Asha said. “My hips are lower than the rest of my body, which is causing some misalignment. I can feel it cushioning my joints, though.”

For Marten Carlson, our heavyweight sleeper, the Nectar Luxe mattress did not provide the pressure relief he needed. On his back, he felt the mattress conforming to his lumbar region but noticed a lack of support around his midsection. On his side, he noted that his entire body sank slightly more than ideal. Too much sinkage can cause pressure to build up around the hips and shoulders with extended use. His back- and side-sleeping PSI measurements exceeded the averages at 13.44 and 20.84, respectively.

After averaging everyone’s results, we came up with an overall pressure relief score of 3.33 out of 5. The Nectar Luxe may not be ideal for folks with aches and pains that require deep cushioning at key pressure points — especially in the side-sleeping position. However, average-weight and lightweight back sleepers may still find it comfortable, depending on their preferences.
Nectar Luxe Motion Isolation
When we evaluate motion transfer, we measure how much movement ripples across the mattress surface when someone tosses and turns. This is important if you share your bed with a partner because it determines how much you will feel them move around at night. We measure motion transfer using two different tests: the ripple test and a partner test.
For the ripple test, a mattress tester gets on the bed next to a bin full of water and shifts around next to it to see if the liquid splashes. During the partner test, two mattress testers lie next to each other. One tester wears a blindfold while the other shifts around and changes sleeping positions. The blindfolded tester raises their thumb whenever they can feel movement.
According to mattress tester Dan Caffrey, there was only a tiny bit of motion in the container full of water. He could get in and out of bed and move around without noticing much of a disturbance in the bin.
However, the partner test was a little disappointing. While Dan expected the Nectar Luxe to excel at dampening his testing partner’s movements, he could tell whenever there was motion on the other side of the mattress.
“I was surprised at how often I could feel my colleague Kate moving around in bed,” Dan said. “While I couldn’t tell exactly what she was doing, it was definitely clear to me whenever there was motion.”
Our testers gave it a score of 3.7 out of 5 for motion isolation, which is average. While the Nectar Luxe should be decent for most sleepers, I don’t recommend it to folks who wake easily or share the bed with a partner or pet who tosses and turns a lot at night.
Nectar Luxe Responsiveness
Responsiveness refers to how fast a bed bounces back to its original form after you’ve applied weight to it. Hybrid and innerspring mattresses usually snap back immediately, while all-foam models take a few more seconds to return to their original form. Combination sleepers typically prefer responsive mattresses because their surfaces make it easier to switch positions smoothly and effortlessly.
After performing the following tests on the Nectar Luxe, our team gave it a 4 out of 5, meaning it’s above average. I think the Luxe should be a good mattress for folks who move around frequently to get comfortable at night.
Switch test: For this test, a tester lies on the mattress and observes how challenging it is to switch between positions. While performing the switch test, Dan felt a bit of sinkage when moving from his back to his side. However, he didn’t find it too challenging and thought the Nectar Luxe was quite responsive for a memory foam mattress. Based on his feedback, I think the Luxe could be a good fit for any combination sleepers who still want something soft and contouring.
Responsiveness test: To test the Nectar Luxe’s responsiveness, mattress tester Erin Chiles placed a 53-pound kettlebell on the bed and let it sink in for seven seconds. Next, she removed the weight and recorded how long it took for the bed to recover. It took 3 seconds for the Luxe to return to its initial shape. Based on these results, we can assume that this bed generally takes longer to return to its original form, so some sleepers may need to put more effort into switching from position to position.
Sinkage test: Next, our mattress tester Erin Chiles placed a 53-pound kettlebell onto the mattress and used a ruler to measure how many inches it sank. She measured 4 inches of sinkage on the Nectar Luxe, which is higher than the 3.25-inch average, placing it in the deep sinkage category. To clarify, light sinkage is up to 2.5 inches, moderate sinkage ranges from 2.6 to 4 inches, and deep sinkage is 4.1 inches and up.

Bounce test: Finally, the bounce test measures how springy a mattress is. For this test, mattress tester Tyler Moyer climbed a ladder 6 feet above the mattress and dropped a 25-pound steel ball onto it. A yardstick on the wall allowed him to measure how high the ball bounced. The ball bounced 3.5 inches on this mattress, which is much lower than the overall average of 15.8 inches, and places the Nectar Luxe in the low bounce category. For context, low bounce is anything under 8 inches, moderate bounce ranges from 8 to 12 inches, and high bounce is over 12 inches.

These tests tell us that the Nectar Luxe has moderate responsiveness for an all-foam mattress, with deeper-than-average sinkage and low bounce. While it may not feel springy or quick to recover, it still offers enough responsiveness for folks who toss and turn occasionally at night, especially those who prefer a softer, more contouring feel.
Nectar Luxe Cooling
If you’re no stranger to waking up covered in sweat, you likely need a cooling mattress with more breathable materials. Memory foam mattresses often trap more heat than beds with hybrid or innerspring constructions and typically underperform during our cooling tests.
“The slow-moving nature of memory foam provides personalized support, but it can sometimes retain heat,” explains Dr. Dasgupta. “However, memory foam infused with cooling gel can help counteract this and keep the mattress from getting too warm.”
After putting the Nectar Luxe through three cooling tests, our mattress testers awarded it a 4 out of 5, which is impressive for a memory foam bed.
Thermal gun test: For this test, Dan used a thermal gun to record the mattress’s temperature before lying on it. Then he rested on it for 5 minutes and measured the temperature again. For reference, if the temperature increases by fewer than 5 degrees, we consider it excellent cooling. An increase of 5 to 10 degrees indicates good cooling, 10 to 15 degrees indicates decent cooling, and more than 15 degrees indicates poor cooling.
Dan recorded an increase of 6.7 degrees on the Nectar Luxe, meaning it has good cooling. Based on Dan’s results, this mattress should work for sleepers who want a memory foam mattress but worry that it will retain heat. However, if you tend to sleep extra hot and cooling is your primary concern, I would look into a mattress with better cooling features instead.

Cover test: For this test, Dan touched the surface of the mattress and observed whether it felt cool to the touch when lying down. His initial observation was that the quilted cover on the top layer of the Nectar Luxe felt cool and crisp when he pressed his hands into the mattress.
Feel test: While lying on the mattress during the thermal gun test, Dan also paid close attention to his body temperature and whether he could feel the Nectar Luxe mattress getting hot beneath him. While he thought the cooling fibers in the cover were impressive upon first feel, he noted that he could feel the mattress heat up beneath him the longer he lay on it.
“I definitely felt some warmth building up at my lumbar region while lying on the Nectar Luxe,” Dan said. “While it was more cozy than it was uncomfortable, I’m not sure if it would be the best choice for anyone who sleeps especially hot.”
As you can see above, the Nectar Luxe heated up 2.4 degrees, thus confirming its excellent cooling abilities. I think it’s one of the best cooling mattresses out there, especially for an all-foam bed.
Nectar Luxe Edge Support
Edge support measures how strong the sides and corners of a mattress are. A bed with stellar edge support should allow you to lie and sit down on it without it collapsing too much beneath you. Sturdy edge support typically appeals to couples, sleepers with bigger bodies, or anyone who likes spreading across the mattress surface.
Edge support also helps us determine how durable a mattress is. According to Dr. Dasgupta, “A mattress that’s built to last will have high-quality materials, a strong support core, and good edge support. Your mattress should offer long-lasting comfort and maintain consistent support over time.”
The Nectar Luxe earned a 3.4 out of 5 overall in this category, meaning it’s only about average compared to other mattresses.
Tape measure test: This test involved stacking weights on top of each other directly on the edge of the bed. Our mattress testers repeated this process three times using three weight stacks — a 99-pound stack, a 154-pound stack, and a 198-pound stack. Next, they used a tape measure to measure the sinkage.
This test measures how much the edges of a mattress might sink when sleepers in various weight categories sit or lie on them. The 99-pound stack represents lightweight sleepers, while the 154-pound and 198-pound stacks represent average-weight and heavyweight sleepers, respectively.
Our testers found that the results ranged from 3 inches for the lightest stack (representing lighter sleepers) to 4 inches for the average-weight stack and up to 5.5 inches for the heaviest stack. These measurements help us gauge how the mattress edge performs across different body types.
Seated test: For the seated test, our testers sit on the side of the mattress and stand up several times to see how easy it is to do so. During this test, Dan felt a lot of sinkage while sitting on the sides and corners of the mattress. However, he said he got a nice little boost from the foam while standing up.
Dan’s testing partner Kate Meier also found it somewhat challenging to get comfortable while sitting on the edge of the bed. “Getting in and out of this bed is tricky on the short side,” she said. “I’m five foot four, and this is a tall boy. To fully sit on this bed, I had to go up on my toes and almost hop to get into a very stable position.”
Full body test: This test is just like the seated test, except instead of sitting, our testers lay directly on the edge of the bed in different sleeping positions. Both Dan and Kate thought the Nectar Luxe performed better on this test.
Nectar Luxe Mattress Performance for Couples
If you sleep with a partner, you want to keep a few extra things in mind when shopping for a mattress. Ideally, you want a bed that absorbs movement, is easy to move around on for sex, sleeps cool, and has sturdy edges.
When looking at all of these factors, the Nectar Luxe is a good choice for sexually active couples. The Luxe is surprisingly responsive for an all-foam mattress, meaning you and your partner should have no trouble maneuvering on its surface without feeling stuck. It also sleeps cool for a memory foam mattress, so you shouldn’t have to worry about feeling like you’re sleeping next to a furnace when trying to snuggle up.
However, the Nectar Luxe’s motion isolation and edge support performance were average. If you sleep with an extremely restless partner, you’ll likely feel their every movement. Plus, the perimeter isn’t as strong as some other beds, so you probably won’t be able to escape their wiggles by moving toward the edge.
Other Performance Factors to Consider
Our mattress testers covered a lot of ground in their assessments, but there are still a few things to consider before replacing your old mattress with the Nectar Luxe.
Sex
Responsiveness can also be used to determine if a mattress is good for sex. The best mattresses for sex should be easy to maneuver on, and having a responsive mattress helps with that because you won’t feel trapped or stuck in slow-moving foam. The Nectar Luxe’s responsiveness is about average, so it may not be the best choice for sexually active couples looking to prioritize this in their next new mattress.
Noise
If you’re a light sleeper who needs complete quiet, the Nectar Luxe should be at the top of your list. During testing, the mattress remained virtually silent, with no noticeable noise.
“I did not hear any noise with this mattress,” said mattress tester Sosha Lewis. “I can usually hear some air release when testing all-foam models, but the Nectar Luxe appears to be the exception.”
Base Compatibility
The Nectar Luxe did not fully conform to our adjustable bed frame in the studio. Sosha noticed a gap at the fold of the base in different settings. While most memory foam mattresses conform easily to an adjustable base, the Nectar Luxe proved too thick to adapt.

Durability
To find a bed’s durability score, our testers average the edge support, materials, and warranty scores. Edge support is a durability indicator because strong support systems can prevent premature sagging. High-quality materials also last longer than cheap materials, and the mattress’s warranty can provide further insight into how long the company expects the mattress to last.
With 3.4-star support and edge support, 5-star noise, and a 5-star warranty, the Nectar Luxe has a final durability score of 4.47 out of 5. In my opinion, the Nectar mattress should last 10 years or more for most sleepers.

Nectar Luxe Sleeping Position and Body Weight
Your weight has a significant impact on how a mattress will feel. As Dr. Shelby Harris, one of our medical advisors explains, “Mattresses generally feel firmer to lightweight sleepers than to an average-weight or heavier sleeper.”
For this reason, we enlist experts in all three weight categories to help us make our recommendations. Next, we ask them to try the bed in three sleeping positions to help us provide specific recommendations to our readers based on their weight and preferred position.
Before we dive into our recommendations, though, we want to recognize that people come in all shapes and sizes, and people of every size deserve a mattress that works for their body type. We use the weight categories light, average, and heavy to more easily categorize sleepers based on how mattresses will perform for their body type, as most mattresses are designed for the group we call “average” (130 to 230 pounds).
As a general takeaway, lighter sleepers don’t require as much support as average-weight sleepers, and mattresses will tend to feel firmer to them. On the other hand, heavy sleepers tend to need more support than average-weight sleepers and sink into the mattress more. As far as sleeping positions go, most side sleepers need a softer mattress while stomach sleepers usually need a firmer, more supportive one. Back sleepers are usually somewhere in the middle.
Is the Nectar Luxe a Good Mattress for Light Sleepers (Under 130 pounds)?
- Light Back Sleepers – Back sleepers who enjoy the feel of memory foam should like this bed. Since this bed is on the softer side, I think back sleepers with smaller bodies will find this bed to be medium-firm, which is ideal for this sleeping position.
- Light Side Sleepers – I’d recommend this mattress’s pressure-relieving feel to side sleepers in need of softness at the shoulders and hips. The Nectar Luxe is quite plush and does a great job of cushioning those sensitive pressure points.
- Light Stomach Sleepers – These sleepers might like this bed, even though it’s not the firmest option. Light stomach sleepers should still get enough support around their hips to keep their spines in healthy alignment.

Is the Nectar Luxe a Good Mattress for Average-Weight Sleepers (130–230 pounds)?
- Average-Weight Back Sleepers – I like this bed for average-weight back sleepers. These sleepers should get some nice contouring at the lower back that should help with lower back pain. If you’re a back sleeper who loves to feel cradled by their mattress, the Luxe is for you.
- Average-Weight Side Sleepers – I also think this bed is an excellent choice for these sleepers. Our mattress tester, Dan Caffrey, noted that he felt some good pressure relief at the shoulders and hips while testing the Nectar Luxe on his side.
- Average-Weight Stomach Sleepers – Similarly, Dan was surprised at how supported he felt while sleeping on his stomach, which usually isn’t the case with foam mattresses. However, I still wouldn’t recommend this mattress to these sleepers. Stomach sleepers should look into a firm mattress to ensure that their spines remain in a healthy position overnight.

Is the Nectar Luxe a Good Mattress for Heavy Sleepers (over 230 pounds)?
- Heavy Back Sleepers – This bed might work for heavier back sleepers who prefer a softer mattress. Since the Nectar is so thick, they shouldn’t sink too far through its layers, and they will likely get more cushioning from this mattress.
- Heavy Side Sleepers – This bed could work for side sleepers with bigger bodies who want a softer mattress. They will likely get more body contouring from this bed.
- Heavy Stomach Sleepers – I would not recommend this mattress to heavier stomach sleepers. These sleepers would probably sink too far into the mattress overnight and put their spines in an unhealthy position. Overall, I would recommend that heavy sleepers in general opt for a firmer and more supportive mattress. Taking a look at some of the best innerspring mattresses is a great place to start.

My Final Thoughts About the Nectar Luxe Mattress
Before you decide on the Nectar Luxe, I want to recap its pros and cons. Not every mattress fits all sleepers, so even if the Luxe isn’t for you, there are many other great options tailored to your needs and preferences.
Who I Recommend the Nectar Luxe For
- I think side sleepers will enjoy the slow-moving, body-contouring feel of the Nectar Luxe. This mattress should offer them plenty of pressure relief around the shoulders and hips.
- Back sleepers who prefer a softer mattress might like this bed’s plush feel. It should offer these sleepers a nice balance of pressure relief and support.
- Hot sleepers should appreciate that the Luxe sleeps cooler than other memory foam mattresses.

Who I Don’t Recommend the Nectar Luxe For
- Sleepers weighing over 230 pounds will likely favor a more supportive mattress. I’d recommend these folks check out our best mattresses for heavy people to find some better options.

Nectar Luxe vs. Competitors
Want to see which mattress would win in a comfort battle royale? If you still can’t decide if the Nectar Luxe is right for you, comparing it to its competitors from other popular online mattress companies might help. See how it stacks up against the competition below.
Nectar Luxe vs Casper
The original Casper is an all-foam bed and one of the most enduring bed-in-a-box mattresses in the game. It’s meant to deliver cushioning at the head and shoulders, with more support toward the center of the bed, where sleepers need it the most. In terms of firmness, we gave the Casper a score of a 7 out of 10 on our mattress firmness scale, making it firmer than many other foam beds.
- Price: Due to its luxury touches, the Nectar Luxe typically costs a couple hundred dollars more than the Casper.
- Sleeping position: Both the Nectar Luxe and Casper cater to average-weight side sleepers and back sleepers. The Casper is the more supportive option for stomach sleepers.
- Cooling: Foam mattresses aren’t usually known for their cooling properties, but the Nectar Luxe combats this with its cool-to-the-touch cover and breathable memory foams. We think it sleeps a bit cooler than the Casper.
- Body weight: Neither mattress is the best choice for heavy side sleepers over 230 pounds.

Nectar Luxe vs DreamCloud
Unlike the all-foam Nectar Luxe, the DreamCloud is a hybrid mattress with a pocketed coil support system. Its innerspring layer gives it a bouncier feel that allows sleepers to easily move around and switch sleeping positions.
- Price: Without discounts, the Nectar Luxe is roughly $1,700 more than the DreamCloud mattress.
- Sleeping position: The DreamCloud is a great fit for back sleepers who prefer a firmer feel, though these folks should also be comfortable on the Nectar Luxe. The DreamCloud is a better choice for stomach sleepers who need something firmer to help their spines stay in a neutral position. Side sleepers are going to get more cushioning from the Nectar.
- Cooling: Hot sleepers should be comfortable on either option. The DreamCloud’s springs allow plenty of air to flow through its construction.
- Body weight: Some heavy back sleepers should get the support they need on the DreamCloud. Heavy side sleepers and heavy stomach sleepers should look elsewhere for an especially firm and supportive bed.

Other Models from Nectar
Nectar also makes two other all-foam mattress models, which I’ll compare to the Luxe mattress below.
Nectar Luxe vs Nectar Classic
As the brand’s flagship model, the original Nectar Classic is an all-foam bed with a more streamlined build and fewer luxury touches than the Nectar Luxe. The Classic is also slightly firmer than the Nectar Luxe at 6.5 out of 10 (right at the industry standard of medium-firm) on our firmness scale. Its simple construction consists of an ultra-soft layer of memory foam up top, with a layer of conventional foam in the middle, and a final layer of sturdy support foam at the bottom.
- Price: Because it’s the brand’s luxury model, the Nectar Luxe is consistently more expensive than the original Nectar.
- Sleeping position: Both mattresses should work for back sleepers and side sleepers, although the Nectar Classic is firmer than the Luxe. So if you’re someone who prefers the classic slow-moving memory foam feel, you should go with the Nectar Luxe.
- Cooling: The Nectar Classic performed better in cooling than the Luxe, likely because there are fewer layers for heat to get trapped in.
- Body weight: It’s unlikely that either Nectar model is going to give heavy sleepers the firmness and support they need.

Nectar Luxe vs Nectar Premier
The Luxe is one step above the Premier in Nectar’s mattress lineup. The Premier is also a bit softer, coming in at a 5.5 out of 10 on our mattress firmness scale (the Nectar Luxe is a 6).
- Price: The Nectar Luxe consistently costs more money than the Nectar Premier.
- Sleeping position: Side sleepers looking for an ultra-plush feel might like the Nectar Luxe, although they should also be comfortable on the Premier. Back sleepers should also be comfortable on both beds, but stomach sleepers should find a firmer mattress altogether.
- Cooling: The Nectar Luxe performed about the same in the cooling category as the Nectar Premier. I think hot sleepers will fare well on either mattress.
- Body weight: We don’t think sleepers with bigger bodies are going to be comfortable on either of these mattresses.

Our Review Process
At Sleepopolis, our team of certified sleep science coaches personally tests each mattress. We start by unboxing the mattress to figure out how difficult (or easy) it is to get the mattress from the box to the bed. Then, we spend time lying on the bed in different positions, taking time to assess it on our backs, stomachs, and sides. Next, we perform our Sleepopolis tests, using specialized tools to measure qualities like motion transfer, bounce, and pressure relief. Our last step is to open up the mattress and take a look at each layer. These steps allow us to give our final verdict on the mattress.
