Is the Miracle Bamboo Pillow a Good Pillow for You?

Before we dig into the details, let’s go over who I think should try the Miracle Bamboo pillow and who should consider a different one.

 P1061294

Who should try the Miracle Bamboo pillow

  • Side and back sleepers should both find this bed pillow to be quite comfortable.
  • Hot sleepers should appreciate some of the temperature regulation features of the bamboo-blend cover and breathability of the shredded foam fill.
  • Folks who like to be able to adjust their pillow will appreciate that you can remove fill to alter the loft of this pillow, as well as fluff and mold it into a shape that you prefer.

Who should not try the Miracle Bamboo pillow

  • If you want a king size pillow, this is not the best pillow for you, as it is only available in a queen size.
  • Stomach sleepers will generally find better value in a softer pillow with a lower loft. This pillow could work for stomach sleepers, but would require them to remove most of the fill.
  • The Miracle Bamboo isn’t the perfect pillow for shoppers who want a completely washable pillow. Only the cover of this pillow is washable.

What Does the Miracle Bamboo Pillow Feel Like?

As we discuss how this pillow feels, keep in mind feel is subjective, so you might have a different experience than I did.

Miracle Bamboo Pillow Firmness

At Sleepopolis, we rate the pillow’s firmness as either soft, medium, or firm. Every sleeping position is best suited for a different pillow firmness: soft for stomach sleepers, medium for back sleepers, firm for side sleepers.

I found the Miracle Bamboo pillow to have a fairly firm feel. The foam offers an elevating feel, keeping your head and neck propped up and supported on the pillow. However, it does feel softer if you remove some of the fill (it’s an adjustable pillow, meaning you can remove the fill to lower the loft).

Miracle Bamboo Pillow Loft

We also categorize pillows by loft, or height. Each loft category — low, medium, and high — is best suited for a different sleeping position. Low is best for stomach sleepers, medium is best for back sleepers, and high is best for side sleepers.

As is, the Miracle Bamboo pillow has a high loft. However, the pillow is adjustable, meaning you can remove some of the fill from the pillow to lower the loft.

P1061327

Now, let’s go over how this pillow felt in different sleeping positions.

Side — With its higher loft and firm feel, I found the Miracle Bamboo pillow to be an excellent choice for side sleeping. My neck felt properly supported as I laid on this pillow, but not craning upwards. Additionally, I like that you can remove some fill to lower the loft if you want.

P1061348

Back — I found the Miracle Bamboo pillow fairly comfortable for back sleeping. I definitely had to remove some of the fill, as it was too lofty with all the fill inside. However, with a lower loft and some fill removed, the pillow provided a nice mix of support and pressure relief.

P1061342

Stomach — I didn’t think the Miracle Bamboo pillow was the best for stomach sleeping. I had to remove a considerable amount of the fill to get the loft low enough that it was comfortable, so in my opinion, it would be more worthwhile to purchase a different pillow with a lower loft and softer feel.

P1061357

Under the Arm — The Miracle Bamboo pillow is quite comfortable to hug under your arm as you rest on your side. The shredded fill makes this pillow squishable and huggable, which is very cozy.

Between the Legs — I think the Miracle Bamboo pillow can work in this position, as it is quite moldable, but I would definitely recommend removing some of the fill to ensure your hips stay aligned.

Is the Miracle Bamboo Pillow Good for Hot Sleepers?

I think the Miracle Bamboo pillow is an okay choice for hot sleepers. The bamboo-blend cover will help with temperature regulation, although not as much as a 100 percent bamboo cover would. Additionally, having shredded foam fill instead of a solid block of foam allows for air to flow more easily within the pillow. But all in all, this pillow isn’t noticeably cooling.

My Final Thoughts About the Miracle Bamboo Pillow

I think the Miracle Bamboo pillow is a solid option for a variety of sleepers that’s available at an affordable price. It should be a comfortable pillow for both back and side sleepers, depending on how you adjust the loft. The Miracle Bamboo pillow provides a sturdy support, but still conforms around your head and neck, which should work for both these positions. I think the firmer feel lends itself well to side sleepers to prevent neck pain, in particular.

P1061308

It could work for stomach sleepers, but in my opinion, it’s more worth your money to buy a different pillow that you won’t have to remove the majority of the fill from as a stomach sleeper.

This pillow makes a solid choice for hot sleepers, with a bamboo-blend cover promoting temperature regulation and shredded memory foam fill, which allows for more airflow than a block memory foam pillow would. However, it’s not noticeably cool to the touch.

It’s also a good choice for sleepers with allergies, as it is hypoallergenic and features a machine washable cover. It’s also a great budget buy; there are many similar pillows on the market which are considerably more expensive than the Miracle Bamboo.

Miracle Bamboo Pillow vs Nolah Squishy Pillow

  • The Nolah Squishy has a similar construction to the Miracle Bamboo pillow. Its cover is made from a blend of polyester and bamboo viscose and the pillow is filled with shredded foam. However, it also features foam pads surrounding the inner lining to give the pillow an extra squish.
  • This is also an adjustable pillow, meaning you can remove fill to alter the loft. It comes with a fairly high loft, making it a great pillow for side sleepers. However, like the Miracle Bamboo, it can also work for back sleepers.
  • The Nolah Squishy is only available in a set of two queen size pillows.

Nolah Squishy Pillow

The Nolah Squishy pillow definitely lives up to its squishy name! It’s squishy, but the shredded foam fill is very elevating and supportive—making it an especially great pillow for side sleepers, who need to keep their head and neck in alignment.
