Well, what material sheets are made from will be one of the biggest factors in determining how the sheets feel, how they look, their durability, and even if they will keep you warm or cool. The Brooklyn Bedding Bamboo Cotton sheets are made with a blend of cotton and rayon fibers derived from bamboo. Cotton and bamboo are both popular materials for sheets, and this blend definitely gives some of the best of both worlds. The cotton is very durable, as well as breathable. And the bamboo fibers have thermoregulating properties that help to maintain your body temperature. Bamboo is also popular because it’s eco-friendly! This fabric blend is also hypoallergenic, so it will help maintain an antimicrobial and antibacterial sleep environment. That’s a big plus for people with allergies or those who have sensitive skin.

What Do the Brooklyn Bedding Bamboo Cotton Sheets Feel Like?

So now that I’ve gone over what these sheets are made of, let’s talk about how they feel. Brooklyn Bedding describes these sheets as “luxuriously soft,” but I thought that they had much more of a crisp, smooth feel. I think the bamboo fibers contribute to that super smooth feeling, which is what I think gives these sheets a little bit of a different feeling than classic cotton sheets. I also thought they felt very light and airy — definitely a nice sheet for the summertime or for those who live in hot climates. The top sheet felt very light when I was lying under it, more like it was floating on top of me, rather than enveloping me.

Are the Brooklyn Bedding Bamboo Cotton Sheets Good for Hot Sleepers?

If you run warm at night, it’s important to have bedding that works with you — not against you — to keep you cool at night. Fortunately, I think that the crisp, light, airy feel of the Brooklyn Bedding Bamboo Cotton sheets are going to be a great pick for hot sleepers. As I mentioned before, the cotton and bamboo fiber blend the sheets are made with is both breathable and has moisture-wicking properties. Both of these qualities will help with temperature regulation, as breathable sheets will prevent heat from being trapped and the moisture-wicking will keep the sheets crisp and dry if you do happen to get a little sweaty.

They are made with a more lightweight fabric, but it is a high-quality material and cotton is known for its durability, so I think that with proper care, these sheets will last a long time. Additionally, the durable elastic band used in the fitted sheet is designed to maintain its elasticity over time.

One great feature of this sheet set is that the fitted sheet has deep pockets. What does that mean? Essentially, the corner part of the fitted sheet is larger than average, which allows for the fitted sheet to fit all the way around the corner of the mattress. In fact, these Brooklyn Bedding sheets are actually able to fit mattresses up to 17 inches tall. Considering that most mattresses are around eight to 14 inches tall, a 17 inch mattress is like an NBA player compared to an average height person—very tall! These super deep pockets are a really great feature for anyone with a tall mattress or who has added a mattress topper to their bed that makes the profile of their bed higher. The fitted sheet also has a very stretchy, durable elastic band that is much stronger than those used in lesser sheets. That elastic band will ensure that the sheet doesn’t move, even if you toss and turn.

I would recommend these sheets to hot sleepers, as well as anyone who lives in a hot climate or is looking for a nice set of sheets for the summer. They are breathable, moisture-wicking, and light.
I think these are also a great pick for people who have a taller mattress or mattress topper. The deep pockets and durable elastic band will ensure the fitted sheet stays on the bed.
Additionally, I think the Brooklyn Bedding Bamboo Cotton sheets are a great pick for people with allergies. The hypoallergenic material will help to reduce allergens in your sleep environment.

Brooklyn Bedding Bamboo Cotton sheets complaints

These sheets are not the softest I’ve ever felt, despite Brooklyn Bedding’s claims. If you’re looking for an extra soft, cozy sheet set, I wouldn’t recommend this bed sheet set.
I would also say that if you want a truly wrinkle-free look for your bed, these sheets may not be the best pick. They look nice, especially thanks to the sheen the bamboo fibers add, but I did notice them wrinkle pretty easily.
Finally, I would say the pillowcases were somewhat lacking, in my opinion. I tend to prefer pillow cases with an envelope style closure that ensure the pillowcase doesn’t ride up or the pillow doesn’t slide out of the case. These do have a small piece of fabric on the end that acts like a closure, but it really doesn’t add much in terms of enclosing the pillow in the case.
