If you’re shopping for new sheets online, there are a few brand names you might see pop up over and over: Brooklinen, Parachute, Snowe, and Boll & Branch. These four companies are well-known and well-loved for their sheets, so we decided to put them head-to-head-to-head-to-head to help you decide which set of sheets is right for you.

In this mega-comparison, I’ll cover the percale and sateen sheet sets from each brand. Percale is a style of weave with a one over, one under construction that is known for its light, crisp, and airy feel. Sateen, on the other hand, uses a multiple thread over (usually three or four), and one under. Sateen is known for being soft, smooth, and silky.

Let’s dive into this comparison!

Brooklinen Sheets

First up, let’s talk about the Brooklinen Classic Core sheets and the Brooklinen Luxe Core sheets. If you want to learn more about either of these sets in-depth, you can check out the full Brooklinen Classic Core review and Brooklinen Luxe Core review, or my Brooklinen sheets review where I compare the Classic Core, Luxe Core, and Linen Core sheets sets.

Brooklinen Sheets Materials

2466701

Both sets of Brooklinen sheets are made of 100 percent long-staple cotton. Long-staple cotton is preferable over short-staple, as the longer fibers ensure greater durability over time and they are less likely to pill. The Classic Core sheets have a percale weave with a 270-thread count and the Luxe Core sheets have a sateen weave with a 480-thread count. These are both within good thread count ranges for their respective weave types.

Each set comes with one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and two pillowcases. The fitted sheets feature tags to indicate the long and short sides. The sheet sets are also available in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Brooklinen always offers a variety of neutral options, as well as many limited edition colors and patterns.

Additionally, the Brooklinen sheets are OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified.

Brooklinen Sheets Feel

The Classic Core sheets have a crisp and lightweight feel, but still feel quite soft and buttery. They feel structured, but not scratchy. These sheets are also quite airy and breathable, making them a good option for hot sleepers.

Woven with long-staple cotton, these Brooklinen Classic Core sheets are both soft and comfortable with a crisp feel — like a luxury brand at a more reasonable price.

The Luxe Core sheets feel super smooth, soft, and buttery. They feel heavier than the Classic Core sheets, but still feel decently airy for a sateen sheet — which tend to be thicker and less breathable than percale. Overall, these sheets have a very luxurious feel.

Parachute Sheets

Next up are the Parachute Percale and Parachute Sateen sheets. For a deeper dive on either of these sets, take a look at my Parachute Percale sheets review, Parachute Sateen sheets review, or Parachute sheets review, where I compare the brand’s percale, sateen, and linen sheets.

Parachute Sheets Materials

P1052856

Both sets of Parachute sheets are made of 100 percent long-staple Egyptian cotton. Egyptian cotton is also widely regarded as the highest quality cotton, as it is known for having extra-long fibers.

Each set of Parachute sheets comes with one fitted sheet and two envelope-style pillowcases. Envelope-style pillowcases have an opening on the back of the pillowcase, instead of on one end. This encases the pillow and prevents tags, zippers, or the end of the pillow from sticking out or the case from slipping off. Additionally, the fitted sheets in these sets feature 16-inch pockets.

Parachute’s sheets do not come with a flat sheet by default — you will have to select to add one to your set if you want one, for an additional price. The percale set is available in twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king sizes, but the sateen set is only available in the latter four.

Parachute Sheets Feel

The Parachute Percale sheets are lightweight, crisp, and breathable. They feel quite soft and worn-in, thanks to the garment-washing Parachute employs to pre-soften them. I found them to be some of the lightest percale sheets I have ever tested, so these are a great choice for sleepers who don’t like to feel weighed down at all by their sheets.

The Parachute Sateen sheets feel ultra-soft and smooth. They are also quite silky, making them a good option for sleepers who love a silkier sheet but can’t afford or don’t want a real silk sheet.

Snowe Sheets

Now onto the Snowe Sateen and Percale sheets. To learn more about these sheets, you can take a look at our Snowe sheets review, which compares the two. We also have a full-length Snowe Sateen sheets review you can check out.

Snowe Sheets Materials

P1053711

Both sets of Snowe sheets are made with 100 percent long-staple cotton. The Snowe Percale sheets have a 500-thread count and the Snowe Sateen sheets have a 400-thread count. 400 is a great number for sateen, but 500 is unusually high for percale. However, these percale sheets do have a thicker feel than many others — likely due to this higher thread count.

The Snowe sheets fitted sheet feature deep, 17-inch pockets to accommodate larger mattresses. These sets are only offered in full, queen, king, and California king sizes. Both sets are OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified as well.

Snowe Sheets Feel

The Snowe Percale sheets offer a crisp, light, and breathable feel. They are softer, smoother, and a little thicker than many other percale sheets.

Snowe Percale Sheet Set

Snowe Percale Sheet Set

Snowe’s percale woven sheets are designed to feel crisp, light and and breathable. And while those traits are typically characteristic of a percale weave, Snowe’s percale sheets have an exceptionally smooth handfeel.

Boll & Branch Sheets

And for our final brand to cover in this comparison, Boll & Branch. For more information on either the percale or sateen set, check out our full Boll & Branch Percale Hemmed sheets review and our Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed sheets review.

Boll & Branch Sheets Materials

P1053763

Each Boll & Branch sheet set is made with 100 percent long-staple organic cotton. The Percale Hemmed are made with a percale weave and the Signature Hemmed are the sateen.

The flat sheets and pillowcases in each set feature long, 7-inch hemlines for an oversized fit. The fitted sheets feature deep, 17-inch pockets to fit larger mattresses. Both sets are OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified.

Boll & Branch Sheets Feel

The Boll & Branch Percale Hemmed sheets have a crisp and structured feel, much like a freshly starched collared shirt. In fact, these are some of the crispest sheets I have ever tested.

Should I Buy Brooklinen, Parachute, Snowe, or Boll & Branch Sheets?

Now that we’ve covered each sheet set, let’s go over who each set is best suited for.

  • Hot sleepers: I would recommend any of these percale sets if you tend to sleep warm, as they are all quite breathable. However, if you want the lightest sheets, I would choose the Parachute Percale.
  • Cold sleepers: If you want something to keep you warm, I’d opt for a sateen set. However, the warmest of all will be the Snowe Sateen.
  • Taller mattress: If you have a taller mattress, I would choose one of the Boll & Branch sets, as they have both deep pockets on the fitted sheet and an oversized flat sheet.
  • Prefer envelope-style pillowcases: If you hate your pillowcase slipping off your pillow or tags and zippers sticking out of your pillowcase, I would choose one of the Parachute sets, as they have envelope-style closures on the pillowcases.
  • Color options: If you want sheets with the largest variety of color options, I would opt for one of the Brooklinen sets, as they offer the widest selection of colors and patterns.
  • Budget shoppers: If you are shopping on a budget, I would also recommend a Brooklinen set, as they are the cheapest option among these four brands.

Final Thoughts

Hopefully you have a better idea of which brand you would like to buy your next set of sheets from after reading this comparison. Still not sure? Check out our best sheets page for more options from even more brands.
