Puffy Bamboo Sheets Review

You might know Puffy for their ultra-soft, memory foam mattresses, but the brand offers a lot more than beds. I have reviewed a few different Puffy sleep accessories and in this review I’ll be tackling another: the Puffy Bamboo sheets.

Puffy claims these sheets are airy, breathable, and will keep you cool and comfortable all night long. I put those claims to the test by personally testing these sheets out. In this review, I’ll go over my experience, as well as what these sheets are made of, prices, and FAQs.

What are the Puffy Bamboo Sheets Made Of?

There’s a wide variety of materials that sheets can be made from — cotton, linen, or in this case, bamboo.

Puffy Bamboo Sheets in the Sleepopolis studio

The Puffy Bamboo sheets are made from 100 percent bamboo viscose. Bamboo viscose is made from bamboo wood pulp that is treated and spun into fabric. It’s a popular material for bedding because it’s soft, moisture-wicking, and hypoallergenic.

See our best bamboo sheets to learn more about this style of sheet.

These sheets have a 300-thread count and are made in a sateen weave. Sateen is a style of weave that uses a three over, one under weave to create a satiny, silky sheet with a lustrous finish. Three hundred is a solid range for a sateen sheet’s thread count — learn more in our thread count guide.

Additionally, the Puffy Bamboo sheets are OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified, meaning they have passed the highest standards for chemical safety.

OEKO-Tex Standard 100 certified

The Puffy Bamboo sheets are available in six different sizes: twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king. I tested the queen size set for this review.

Each set includes one fitted sheet with 15-inch pockets and one flat sheet. Twin and twin XL sets come with one standard pillowcase, full and queen sets come with two standard pillowcases, and king and California king sets come with two king pillowcases.

The fitted sheet’s deep pockets, plus thick and durable elastic, keep it secured on your bed. It also features tags to indicate the long and short sides, which simplifies the process of making your bed. The pillowcases in this bamboo sheet set have envelope-style closures, which means they close on the back rather than a side. That ensures the end of your pillow won’t stick out if the pillowcase shifts around during the night.

What Do the Puffy Bamboo Sheets Feel Like?

I loved how these sheets felt when I tested them. They feel ultra-silky, slinky, and truly luxurious. I usually like bamboo bed sheets because of their soft feel and this set of sheets from Puffy definitely delivered on the bamboo-feel.

The sateen weave also makes these sheets very smooth. I think that, in addition to the sheets being hypoallergenic, could make them a good choice for sleepers with sensitive skin.

Are the Puffy Bamboo Sheets Good for Hot Sleepers?

I think the Puffy Bamboo sheets are a great choice for hot sleepers. Bamboo fibers do a great job of regulating temperature — meaning they don’t trap heat and maintain their temperature — providing a cooler sleeping experience. Bamboo is also great for hot sleepers because it’s moisture-wicking, so if you sweat, the sheets won’t soak it up around you and leave you feeling damp.

I also thought these sheets felt decently light and that they allowed for a good amount of airflow, which also helps with sleeping cool.

How Durable are Puffy Bamboo Sheets?

The Puffy Bamboo sheets felt like good quality sheets to me. I particularly appreciated the use of a very thick elastic on the fitted sheet, which should ensure better elasticity over time.

Be sure to follow the proper care instructions for these sheets to keep them feeling high-quality over time. I’ll go into more detail on how to clean these sheets in the FAQ section below. One thing to note is these sheets do wrinkle pretty easily. This is common for bamboo sheets, in my experience, but could be frustrating if you want wrinkle-free sheets.

Do the Puffy Bamboo Sheets Stay on the Bed?

The Puffy Bamboo sheets stay on the bed nicely. Having a fairly deep pocket sheet — the fitted sheet’s pockets are 15 inches — means it will stay on most mattresses without issue. If you have a particularly tall mattress (above 15 inches), you may want slightly larger sheets. They also have extra straps that secure the fitted sheet underneath your mattress.

I also liked how thick and durable the elastic on the fitted sheet is. Having strong elastic keeps the sheets secured, as well.

As I mentioned before, the pillowcases have an envelope-style closure. I love this feature, as it keeps the pillowcases in place. Especially with a slinky material like bamboo viscose, it can be easy for traditional pillowcases to slide off your pillow. The envelope-style closure completely prevents that.

Are Puffy Bamboo Sheets Good for You?

Now let’s go over my recommendations for the Puffy Bamboo sheets, as well as some complaints.

Who should try out the Puffy Bamboo sheets

Who should try Puffy Bamboo sheets

  • If you are a hot sleeper, I think you’ll appreciate the cooling capabilities of these bamboo sheets.
  • If you love a silky sheet, these should be right up your alley. They are super soft and slinky, like a silk sheet.
  • If you want envelope-style pillowcases, you will be happy to know this set includes them. No worries about pillowcases slipping off your pillow with these.

Puffy Bamboo sheets complaints

  • If you want wrinkle-free sheets, these might not be the best choice for you. I found they wrinkled quite easily.
  • If you prefer a structured sheet, you might not like how silky these feel. I’d recommend looking at cotton sheets, which usually offer lots of breathability but a more sturdy feel than bamboo.
  • If you are looking for a variety of color options, these may disappoint, as they are only offered in a few neutral options.

Puffy Bamboo Sheets vs Brooklyn Bedding Bamboo Cotton Sheets

Comparing Puffy Bamboo Sheets vs. Brooklyn Bedding sheets

  • The Brooklyn Bedding Bamboo Cotton sheets are made from a blend of cotton and bamboo rayon. This blend combines the best of both materials: cotton’s durability and breathability with bamboo’s temperature-regulation.
  • These sheets have a more crisp, structured feel than the Puffy Bamboo sheets.
  • This set’s fitted sheet can fit a mattress up to 17 inches tall, which is quite tall! That could be helpful if you have a tall mattress topper on top of your bed.
