What is the Tempur-Pedic Weighted Blanket Made Of?
Weighted blankets can be made with a variety of different materials, so let’s take a closer look at what the Tempur-Pedic weighted blanket is made of.
Cover: The Tempur-Pedic weighted blanket’s cover is made from a 100 percent polyester material that’s soft and minky. This cover is removable and machine washable.
Inner Blanket: Inside the cover of this blanket is an inner blanket, which is made from 100 percent cotton. This blanket utilizes gridded stitching to keep the fill inside evenly distributed.
Fill: The inner blanket is filled with a mix of 91 percent glass beads and 9 percent polyester fiber batting fill. This fill is what gives the blanket its weight.
Additionally, the Tempur-Pedic weighted blanket is only available in one color, which is a dark gray.
How Much Does the Tempur-Pedic Weighted Blanket Weigh?
The Tempur-Pedic weighted blanket is available in two different weight options: 15 and 20 pounds. Both weight options are the same size — the dimensions are 72 inches long by 48 inches wide, which is a single/personal size blanket. I tested the 15-pound blanket for this review.
When choosing a weighted blanket, it’s best to choose a blanket that is close to 10 percent of your own body weight. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds, then a 20-pound blanket would be ideal for you. See our guide on how heavy your weighted blanket should be to learn more.
What Does the Tempur-Pedic Weighted Blanket Feel Like?
The Tempur-Pedic weighted blanket is really soft and cozy. The cover has a minky, fuzzy feel that is warm and comforting. Overall, I thought this blanket would be perfect to cozy up under on a cold night or when you’re looking for an ultra-plush and comfy feel.
I thought the blanket had good weight distribution, but I did notice the beads rolling around inside the blanket caused some noise. I could hear the beads clinking against each other within the blanket. The weight of the blanket was cozy and comforting and felt pretty typical compared to other 15-pound blankets I have tested.
Is the Tempur-Pedic Weighted Blanket Good for Hot Sleepers?
I felt quite warm lying underneath the Tempur-Pedic weighted blanket. It has a thick and fuzzy polyester cover, so I wasn’t surprised to find it so warm. However, for this reason I don’t think it’s the best option for hot sleepers, but it’s a great option for shoppers looking for a blanket to keep warm.

How Durable is the Tempur-Pedic Weighted Blanket?
Overall, this blanket felt durable and fairly well-constructed. Having a machine washable, removable cover is super helpful in keeping the blanket clean and maintaining its quality over time. Additionally, having the gridded stitching on the inner blanket should keep the filling evenly distributed over time, so you don’t need to worry about the fill pooling on one side of the blanket.
Is the Tempur-Pedic Weighted Blanket Good for You?
With all that in mind, let’s go over who I think should try the Tempur-Pedic weighted blanket, as well as some complaints.
Who Should Try the Tempur-Pedic Weighted Blanket
- Anyone who loves a fuzzy, minky blanket should appreciate the feel of the Tempur-Pedic blanket.
- If you want a weighted blanket with a washable cover, then the Tempur-Pedic could also be a good option for you.
- If you want a throw-blanket-size blanket, the Tempur-Pedic could work well for you, as it is about the size of a throw blanket.
Tempur-Pedic Weighted Blanket Complaints
- If you sleep hot, you might find this blanket to be too warm. It’s fuzzy polyester cover keeps you warm and cozy, but that may not be ideal for hot sleepers.
- If you are easily disturbed by noise, the clinking beads in this blanket might disrupt your sleep.
- If you want a larger blanket, the Tempur-Pedic may not be the best choice. It is only available in two weight options, 15 and 20 pounds. And it is only available in a single person/throw blanket size, which is too small to be easily shared by two people.

Tempur-Pedic Weighted Blanket Vs
Still deciding if this is the right weighted blanket for you? Let’s compare it to two competitors: the Gravity weighted blanket and the Bearaby Cotton Napper weighted blanket.
Tempur-Pedic Weighted Blanket vs Gravity Weighted Blanket
- The Gravity weighted blanket also has a fuzzy polyester cover, but it has a much more velvety feel than the Tempur-Pedic’s, which is almost like a faux fur.
- It uses micro glass beads and polyester batting fill as the filling of the blanket, which works effectively to make it heavy, but also quite. The microbeads are so small that you can barely detect each individual one, and they don’t make much noise.
- Like the Tempur-Pedic, the Gravity is available in 15 and 20-pound weight options, as well as a larger queen size/king size 35-pound blanket.

- Unlike the Tempur-Pedic, the Cotton Napper doesn’t utilize any weighted fill. Rather, the weight of the blanket comes solely from the weight of the fabric itself.
