I’ll cover my experience testing out the Brooklyn Bedding “The Frame” bed frame, including its features and what it is made of. I’ll also make recommendations for who might like it.

Do I Need a Bed Frame?

There are lots of different types of bed frames out there, from metal bed frames to wood bed frames to adjustable bed frames to bunk beds to Murphy beds. With so many different options, it’s important to consider what exactly you are looking for from your bed frame, as well as what you want to avoid. So, let’s go over who I think the Brooklyn Bedding bed frame is a good choice for and who may want to buy a different bed frame.

Who Should Buy the Brooklyn Bedding Bed Frame

Anyone looking for a bed frame that’s easy to put together and take apart should like this frame. It’s so easy to assemble, it took us about three minutes total from the time we brought the box into the room. And it’s easy to take back apart.
I think this is a very affordable option, especially for the durability it offers. At under $200, this frame is a good budget option, especially if you already have a box spring or foundation.
It’s a good choice for heavier folks or people who have a heavy mattress, as it is rated to support over 2,000 pounds.

Who Should Not Buy the Brooklyn Bedding Bed Frame

This frame isn’t the best option for people who don’t want a box spring or foundation. There are many platform bed frames available these days that allow you to use the bed frame without these additional pieces, so if you don’t want a box spring or foundation, this may not be ideal for you.
There isn’t a ton of room for underbed storage with this bed frame. Your mattress should be lifted up fairly high with the addition of a box spring, but the frame itself is fairly low to the floor.
This bed frame is pretty simple and doesn’t have much in terms of design. You can add a headboard, but that would be an additional purchase. If you are looking for a bolder style, this may not work for you.

How Do I Set Up the Brooklyn Bedding Bed Frame?

Now let’s go over how to set up the Brooklyn Bedding bed frame. As I mentioned before, it is very simple. I would recommend grabbing a friend to help you with unboxing and setup, though. Here’s what you need to do:

First things first, you’ll want to clear the space you are setting up in. Then bring in the box and open it up.
Next, you’ll want to take out all the pieces and be sure to find the sheet of paper with the instructions.
Then lay out the three leg support pieces and the two side pieces in the shape of the frame.
Then to connect them, all you have to do is click the pieces together. No tools are required — you really just have to place the pieces together and they’ll snap into place.

Once it is all assembled, it may not look like much — that’s because you’ll need a box spring or foundation to add on top of the frame before you can add your mattress. Brooklyn Bedding does sell a foundation which you can use with this frame, but you do have to buy it separately. You could also use a boxspring or foundation that you already have, or one from another brand.

What is the Brooklyn Bedding Bed Frame Foundation Made Of?

Now let’s talk about what this bed frame is made of.

The frame is made of metal reclaimed from railroad tracks. The legs are plastic and there are also some small plastic end caps on the frame. And that’s about it! It’s a pretty simple frame.

The Brooklyn Bedding bed frame is quite sturdy — it is rated to weigh up to 2,500 pounds. It should work for just about any size mattress, as well as sleepers of any weight. Additionally, it is about seven and a half inches tall, so there is a small amount of space under the frame, but not a lot.

My Verdict on the Brooklyn Bedding Bed Frame

Overall, I think the Brooklyn Bedding bed frame is a great option for anyone who needs an affordable, simple, easy-to-assemble bed frame. This frame is no-frills, but still extremely sturdy, as it can hold over 2,000 pounds. You also can add a headboard to this frame if you want to make it look more stylish.

My only con for this frame would be that you do need a box spring or foundation to add on top of it, so if you don’t already have one, that will be an additional cost to factor in. I generally prefer platform beds, which use slats for support instead of a box spring, but if you like box springs or want to get use out of the one you already have, this frame could be a good choice.

The Brooklyn Bedding bed frame is extremely easy to set up. It is one of the easiest bed frames, if not pieces of furniture, that I have ever assembled. I would definitely recommend this bed frame to anyone looking for easy setup as a priority.

Not a lot. Because it is a 7.5-inch tall frame, it has some room underneath but not a significant amount.
