With a dynamic foam design, the 5 Little Monkeys mattress should support a variety of ages. Your child can start sleeping in it as early as 5 years old, with the bed lasting until they’re at least 13. The Big Fig mattress was made especially for sleepers over 230 pounds, and we think these folks will be comfortable in all three sleeping positions. While the Leesa Plus was designed for folks over 230 pounds, our testers found that it also offers ample support and comfort for a wide range of sleepers. It performed well in pressure relief for both back and side sleepers, contouring gently without compromising support. However, our testers also found that its soft memory foam layers may sink too far for heavier stomach sleepers, which could potentially lead to poor spinal alignment and back pain.
The Purple mattress is constructed with the brand’s proprietary polymer grid, which our testers found to be cushioning yet supportive. Overall, this is a firmer mattress that’s a good match for back sleepers, combination sleepers, and stomach sleepers.

The Titan Plus mattress is a durable mattress made with heavy sleepers in mind. It’s firm and features heavy-duty coils and Titanflex foam that makes it bouncy and easy to move around on. The Brooklyn Bedding BB Kids Mattress is made with firmer memory foam that should offer an ideal amount support for younger back sleepers and side sleepers. It also has some added touches such as gel memory foam for cooling and a stain-resistant cover.
Built to buck the trend of memory foam being overly soft, the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex is a firm, supportive bed that should be comfortable for back sleepers and stomach sleepers alike. It’s also very affordable, with a queen size available for well under $1,000 before any discounts have been applied.
The Casper Original is an all-foam mattress that is a great option for back sleepers who want a balance of support and pressure relief. Combination sleepers will appreciate this mattress’s responsiveness, which makes it easy to change positions throughout the night. With soft foam and a sturdy layer of innerspring coils, the DreamCloud strikes a balance between comfort and support — a little bit of contouring up top and on-top-of-the-bed feel that comes from the bottom. It’s a fairly firm mattress that we think is most comfortable for back sleepers. It also has some luxury touches such as a cashmere-blend cover that are reminiscent of a high-end hotel.
